Hi guys,
Well i am trying to piece my car back to life. Here's the story...
I bought this 95 M3 at auction. It needed a new muffler, but the engine cranked up just fine, etc etc. I had the engine looked at, and they recommended changing out the hoses, and stuff as preventative maintainence on the car, but besides that it was a great car.
No problem.
So i went and got new 17.5 injectors, a new air flow meter ( thanks to evo). The first step on my project was simply change out the injectors and the air flow meter ( cause the old one had a broken screen).
So i take out the old injectors.... pull them out.. put the new ones in. I plop off the old meter, put the new one on...
and the engine cranks.. but wont catch.
What is going on!!!! Am i missing something? Please
Make sure you have your HFM in the right direction and check the wires
the car is broke and there is no hope in reviving that POS.. i say you just donate it to me and it can give you a nice tax write off this year!

the arrow points TOWARDS the throttle body, right?
yep the arrow should be pointing up. try swapping ur stock hfm and see if it starts up.
If ur worried about the cracked screen take the one off ur new hfm and put it on the stock one. Did u buy a euro hfm or a stock hfm off evo. If u got a euro hfm u will need a chip to work with it.
Even without the HFM the car should start up AND run. Albeit terribly. Ask me how I know.Originally posted by phily

In my experience, when a car doesn't start even if its cranking, its almost always fuel delivery. Make sure you installed the injectors correctly and replaced the coil packs right and such.

well the injectors just snap into place... you gotta push hard, and then you put those little clips around them to hold them in place. They arent leaking any fuel .. so i am presuming i put them in right. Any tricks in installing them?
Have you done the basic checks for a spark and fuel?
Like Steve basically said, it should start if the above are present, once running however it may be another story, but we will come to that once it fires.
