Those are Style 65 wheels, from an E39 M5. They are 18x8 ET20, 18x9.5 ET22. Your Z3 probably came with 17x7.5 ET40 all around, or smaller. You'd be pushing the fronts out 26mm, and the rears 43mm. I can't see those fitting without some excessive work.

I mean to make them look like they fit correctly, you'd likely have to do some body work to the rear, and the front to keep them from rubbing, or poking past the fender. If they are local, why not test fit them and see?

However. I've given you the wheel specs. Go measure the gap from your tire to the wheel well on your Z3 and see how much space there is. If you think it will clear, great.

I can see you only have a few posts and are really exited about your car.

Wheel fitment is a bit of a black art, you need to do your re-search and understand how it works.

What some people will accept as OK fitment may not be OK for you. There are lots of threads on size/offset etc. start ready and researching, use the tools that are available to compare your current setup with any possible new setup.

9" wheel in the front and 11" on the back (for 6 cyl) cars can be done. but I would suggest you try to stay close to your current wheel/tire size.

There are many steals out there on either OE wheels or close knockoffs. Getting the wrong offset wheels is a recipe for serious headaches.

They're not going to fit very well. I run an 8" wide 20mm offset wheel all around. To make the fronts fit, I have to run a tiny 205 width tire, and I have several extra degrees of camber (camber plates). If Jeremy has the right specs for the rear, then I wouldn't recommend it. I test-fitted an 18x9 et22, and this is how it fit (to make it worse, this is without the coilovers on):

If you like the style, there are some very nice style 65 replicas out there that will fit correctly on your car.

I am not extremely well versed in wheel fitment, but you would need to basically talk to guys that know exact possible clearence (comfortable clearence without screwing with stuff) that would be possible.

As it stands, with a 9.5in wheel with 22mm offset, you are looking at over 2in extension on the outside. Inner clearence would prolly be ok, but the wheel would stick out way too much.

You can just mess around with an offset calculator online see how the numbers look.

But I would imagine you would want anything to extend beyond 25-30mm on or more than 15mm inwards (I am completely guessing here) I am not sure how much inner clearence there is.

So im back....and i have purchased the rims. i was able to purchase the set for 200 dollars, i couldnt pass it up. the rim size is a 8x18 and with current tire size, they fit in the back, but rub in the front...i am confident can find a smaller tire for the front and go staggered. i have some pictures of the wheels mounted on the back. if you have any suggestions or concerns, please post. i drove with them home and it seemed fine.

Oh, so you have 4 fronts?! A square setup, not staggered. That makes more sense. $200 sounds like a bargain.

yes all rims are the same size, 8x18 . just so im clear, a smaller tire does not make it staggered if its smaller in the fron than back? also...should i experience any handling problems by putting different tire size?

As long as the front 2 tires are the same you should be fine. Staggered setups use different sizes for front and rear.
