I have heared alot about the subframe issue with no one except Randy Forbes coming up with a comprehensive solution. Sadly he is in Ohio and I am in Colorado.
I am looking for help..........proactive solutions BEFORE the welds fail.
Where is the help out there?
Bobby
I think there is a parked thread right at the top of the forum with a few pages of info.
Very nice ^^. I'm in the process myself.

You did the whole job with the car placed on jack stands?! Nice to see, I'm going to try it that way, too.
Did you have any problems?
Best regards,

To the OP,
Do you have problem already - any visible cracks or broken welds?
Randy's fix was so popular my indy shop knew what to do to fix my subframe and at the time I didn't know who Randy was. If I didn't still have a single diff mount I'd thought they ordered his kit.
Here's a pic or two of my mess...because I like posts with pics.
.
I'm waiting for the big brown truck (not FedEx!) to deliver Randy's Kit tomorrow. I looked into other alternatives, and chose Randy's. His method spreads the load to the whole rear unibody structure. This isn't a repair - its a re-engineering!
Any good shop should be able to do the install. There are 34 pages of instructions, with LOTS of pictures to follow.

If I knew Randy then how I know Randy now. It's a no-brainer.

You should be on BMW payroll for godsake.
.
