Question about JTD Strut bars and under-the-hood clearance

I'm thinking about getting a set of JT Designs strut bars for my 98 323is. I was wondering whether the front bar clears the hood insulation okay or if it needs to be cut or ???

I'd prefer not to mess with the insulation if possible - if there's a comparable brace that definitely clears everything under the hood, I'd be interested in that as well.

    Thanks in advance!

I have the JT Designs bar on my 95 325iC. It doesn't clear the insulation completely but you don't have to cut it either. The bar (actually only the highest nuts) hits the insulation just a bit at the towers. No real problems other than when it rains, the hood insulation gets damp and starts to corrode the strut bar nuts a bit. PITA keeping them rust free until I tried spraying WD40 on the area. Works fine now.
