    Tried removing auto-ecu, No change
    Tried cutting pin 66 (a green one), no change
    Did still start with the original 404 DME with pin 66 cutted, though.

    No, the tranny ecu being in the car should not have any effect on the ECU. If you have ASC, it will break w/out the trans computer though. I was able to correct this with NCS expert, but its not a "simple" task.

    That sucks that it still doesnt start. If I figure out this damn checksum issue, i can make you a 404 version of your 484 chip.

    Yes please, even though I'm still moving, my eeprom reader/burner and laptop always have easy access. I'll ship it back out as soon as I read it so that you don't have any more downtime than needed.

    very odd. thats the chip i was running yea, the same one i was having rpm falling issues/stalling and hesitation. the stock chip both issues are gone now. but i was running that chip for a while with no issues. and with the stock chip its a bunch slower :-(.

    toss it in your car and see what happens. it should run as it ran in my car till the day i sent it to you. how come every one i send you has issues!? lol wtf dude.

    I do have a major update for these chips. The checksum correction I just figured out on both the 404 and the 484, works no problems. Only 2 lasts things left, and I can have all the options a WAR chip has, except for that I get a little bonus. Live tracing of what cell the car is currently running of the maps while tuning, which the WAR doesn't offer.
    Once I find the top speed limiter 404/484 and the EWS location for the 484, and a stock 404 manual chip from K FOX, we can have complete 6 speed DME conversions with performance maps and other options at a special request. I'm going to have my car dyno tuned to max out the power safely, but that will not work for everyone else since not every car is the same, nor is our climate and elevation.

    I'll try it out on my car this Sunday. There's no way it could have got damaged during shipping as you packed it well, including the anti static bag. It could be that the chip is just a way different software version and the locations are off based on my tuner pro xdf that I built. This happens a lot on the 413 m50 dme's where there are at least 5 different stock bins with different offsets. I will disassemble the bin file in another program that I use to see if all the maps are there and are just offset from my several 404 bins.

    I want to say there's no programming to pull power for the automatics. The 5HP30 was also used in the V12 Aston DB7, so it's definitely up to the task. It should just have ignition retard for gear shifts, which shouldn't matter without the trans computer.

    sxracer001, just dissasembled your bin file and all the maps are there, everything looks to be good, the chip has definetely been rebuilt and all the data was moved closer together out of stock locations. I'll pop it in my dme this sunday and see how it runs.
    I also just obtained a bin what is supposed to be a stock manual 404, about to go try it out on the car right now, fingers crossed it better work perfect.

    So I installed an EAT chip M60b40 Manual ECU, the hang is A LOT better, but still there. I am awaiting to see what DUDMD figures out and then I am going to contact Mark at EAT to see if he has any ideas.

    Update:
    404 Manual Performance Version is done and 100% working with no check engine lights, and no problems.
    404 Manual Stock chip is also available to those not wanting to upgrade the chip at this time.
    484 Manual Chip is available with both stock and performance version, but it'll have my EWS code on there, only if you're converting to a 6 speed and it will need to be realigned to your EWS. For those that have not converted their transmissions (auto or manual), that just want a performance chip for the 484 DME, will have to send me in their original chip so that I can match the EWS on the new chip and have it plug and play.

    K Fox - I just sent your chip back as well with one of my 404 DME manual performance chips.
    SXRacer001 - You can send me the chip you had back, and I'll send you the updated version that no longer throws that CEL.

    PM me if you're interested in buying a stock 404 manual conversion chip, or any of the performance chips listed above.

    Not yet, haven't messed around with the 484 chip much, since my car isn't 484 compatible at the moment, I can't test certain things. I certainly would love to find just the location of the EWS code, so that I can make plug and play manual swap chips for the 484 guys. In the meantime, they have to run a 404DME or align the chip that I send to them to their car.

    Hi guys. I have 484 in my e34 1995. I made swap on м60б40. but brains 404 not put out, as and war chip too. now the engine is running bad at 484 brains. how all the same to the engine control? I understand that 404 can't be put in the car where 484. what to do?

    You can and should put in the 404 into your car. Cut pin 66 (green wire) on the DME harness plug when installing a 404 dme. Your engine is running bad because the chip in the 484 right now is for a 3.0L motor, which runs a lot different than the 4.0
