    Kick Panel Soundproofing?

I upgraded to 6.5" components in the kick panels. Should I discard the OEM baffle or trim it to fit?? Also, should I add Dynamat to the kick panel where the speaker is mounted?? And would Dynamat help inside the kick panel on the actual outer fender part?

I am just looking into what will be more beneficial. I am in the middle of my whole install.

    Thanks,
    Mike

What I eventually did was cut the back of the factory foam-insulation away so the speakers had a larger cavity, but still provided the insulation and dampening of the foam. Oh I dynamatted the whole area as well.

What is the biggest diameter of the speaker one could fit into e36 kick panels (with cutting obviously)?

    Thanks.

    Thanks everyone!

I fit a 6.5" with minimal cutting. It was a half-circle I cut out and the widest portion was about 1/2", maybe less. I think someone on here has 8" in the kicks but damn!! LOL!
