Lease or Buy new 335 xdrive

Want to lower my current 2009 335 xdrive payments down from $940/mo. A new lease for 36 mo minus a few nice options could get me down to $579 with this lease deal bmw has now. What do you think. Currently have 29000 on car and bmw sales will pay off car. Should I do it. Heading towards a divorce too, so a lease would not be considered equity would it when splitting our assets down the middle. Maybe another good reason to lease.

Yea do it and get the options. If you make your financial picture better with much lower payments she can use that as leverage too. After the divorce you can buy the car off lease if you want to.

Talk to a divorce lawyer before you make any changes to your financial picture. There is no equity in a lease but you probably don't have much in the 2009 either. The monthly nut on the current loan might work to your advantage when splitting assets and debt.
