Correct me if I am wrong, but 188mm is the large case correct?

If so that means with the right axel stubs and the original diff back, this could fit an e39 540i?

for e39 V8, the swap is e39 v8 M5 rear LSD+axels+ driveshaft. That is the plug and play solution

    40%? Really?

That is interesting because I have never seen one of these with preload in them.

Stock bmw torsens are 40% lock. That's the factory specs

There is no preload, it's a mechanical diff. If you have a really stiff motorsports car that lifts it's drive wheels of the ground often, then perhaps buy an aftermarket clutch diff?

so you are saying 40% on accel then. I have never seen an exact spec on any of these carriers in any of their literature. Not talking the stuff from BMW either. I would question the 40% number also as ever z3 I have driven with one of these is horrendous to drive and it behaves like it has much less lock. I will give the torsen units credit as they outperform any non-torsen helical carrier.

I have a pile of these on the shelf if you ever need more.

It's definitely an accel biased unit, it's Oem- not custom. it will lock on deccel, I have one in my hooligan runabout e30.

locks up both rear tires with more grip than the stock 2 clutch unit, understeers slightly so Im happy to turn w throttle!!

I know this post is six years old, but do you still have any Z3 Torsens laying around?
