Try spraying a penetrating lubricant like Kersol on all the offending fasteners and let it sit for 24 hours. After that it might take impact tools.Originally Posted by 4eyes
Found my oil leak... Cracked oil pan... Going to try to temp patch it tomorrow so it will be alright until I can rebuild my spare M30...
Can't temp fix it, the crack goes through the sealing surface for the oil level sender and it's stepped quite a bit, so the sender can't even seal...

Took each of the girls out on a hot date this weekend. Sunday/Monday going almost 1/3 the way around the island. Little less than an hour drive. Barely got out of third gear At least we burned off some carbon
Also picked up a manual pedal box.

Nice relatively warm day. Washed it and went for a drive.

My car is still on jack stands with an engine hoist attached to it awaiting the replacement oil pan. Should ship tomorrow, forgot to put the address in the PayPal email...
Finally got a set of rebuilt door hinges on with the help of 2 friends who held the door steady. Was hoping the wind noise would be gone, but my door seals aren't sealing well. Installed a 3:73 LSD that one of those friends gave me. That same friend is getting out of bimmers due to his new purchase, an Acura NSX. Finally got to drive that baby yesterday & man what a ride.
Yeah, has better pull in gear where used to have to downshift. Still getting used to shifting change.
I do believe that the parts are still available, however purchasing the skirts in separate parts is very expensive. I myself paid a pretty penny for this set.
I use penskeparts for most of my OEM parts purchases. Great service and shipping to Hawaii has been reasonable. Much better than Max's.

Hi, where or what link, where I can get some of those m tech side skirts? And how much?
Have my seats out for a redye job of the seats I put in last spring. The company did not mention needing a crosslinker and the dye wore off fast. Will also put a wear clear coat over them. Hope they wear better this time.
Adjusted the valves. Trying the cam method this time as it was a bit noisy after adjusting at the valves. Still have to put the cover back on but trying to keep my back from going out from all that bending over.
Next up is replacing the transistor to the fan speed adjuster and replacing odometer gears. Still more to do to the 735i as well.
Getting warm enough for a comfortable garage! Maybe next month it will be warm enough to wash cars.

If looking for new parts, it will add up pretty quickly to $1000++shipping. I felt lucky finding a new set from another member. Better but still expensive, just happy to have after years of looking.

I brushed the fresh layer of snow off of my car, then went and threw some gas in the tank. Going to head home for spring break, continue my search for some Billie HD's or Sports.
My car needs the dreaded PA-state inspection this month. I know for a fact it needs rear shocks... who knows what else. It's killing me not having a jack, jackstands, and a garage anymore. I don't trust the jack from the trunk as far as I can throw it to actually get under the car with. It's fine for changing a tire, but no way I'm sticking my head under the car with that thing.

I will be off on a 1600 mile round trip, to pick up many hard to get parts a guy has been hoarding away for many years. Among them is a new 83 Euro engine wiring harness, a rebuilt dog leg box, an inspected 265 OD box, a fully rebuilt and modified 85 head complete with a reground 284 cam on an 85 casting with a wild looking port job. I will post a full list when I get back after I pull what I want for my car

Where did you get the sideskirts? What link? And how much? I like those sideskirt for my 89 csi.
Oil pan is installed, waiting for the sealant to dry. Going to finish up tomorrow, still have to reinstall alternator/PS and add oil. Can't wait to drive my car again.
i picked up my 6er from Paddock Imports...
I had a leaking powersteering hose replaced, oil and filter changed, brake fluid changed, power steering fluid changed, and speed balanced my front tires as I was feeling a vibration between 80-90mph...
When I scheduled my appointment I told Doug I noticed that the alternator was very vibratory and asked them to look at the bushings... He pulled it off and showed me how the rebuilt alt that I had was one that had no bushings, possibly for a 633?, I can't remember what he said... so he put the proper alt on there with bushings that won't wear out so fast...
Car ran quiet and smooth at 85mph on the way home... all that and I didn't get my hands the least bit dirty!
UPS delivered my new A/C compressor & blower motor yesterday. Allready had the freon, drier and o-riings looks like a busy weekend. Got to have air its starting to get warm.
- Fixed power steering/booster leak. (replaced o-rings)
- In the middle of fixing oil ladden carpet and mat. (waiting for the water to seperate and then evaporate from the mat. Been outside for 2 days so far.)
- Fixed non working seat motors and shafts. Seat is straight now and works like it supposed to. Control box a little load, though. (shortened plastic cable housing to get flex cable to be fully inserted and forced JB Weld into another with the flex shaft to fix one that was stripped out.)
- Replaced fan clutch
Hope to have done this weekend:
- Brakes bled
- Drag link and 2 tie rods replaced (loose drag link)
- Freeze plug replaced (Front plug leaking)
- Carpet dried and back in
Next week get inspection and then start driving her on a egular basis. This spring I hope to get around to freshening up the 3.4 sitting in the garage and get that swap out.

My car is alive again Not even a single drip of oil anywhere. Washed all the bird crap off it today and immediately took it for a spirited drive to re-welcome it to the world of the living. Missed my car!
- Got carpet and pad back in. (still need to figure out how to get a little residual ps fluid out of carpet)
- Fixed disconnected window.
- Bleed brakes after replacing master cylinder.
- Installed freeze plug. (fixing rusted out plug)

Put some 300mi on my 6er this weekend, actually getting better economy after the 3.73 swap, probably closer to my engine's power band now but went 220mi on 12 gallons of gas, same trip would have usually taken me 14 gallons... And I'm not exactly easy on the throttle.
