sadly the brits pay about double what we would here in the states for the same car. not a very good challenge at all since they all got the same car.

I didn't have the time (or the heart) to watch the whole thing. Were all of the cabrios destroyed by the end of the show?

Those guys should have headed-up the Clunker Pogrom here in the states. They (and their American counterparts) demolish older cars more effectively than did the U.S. government . . .

You need extra pubic hair and fecal matter???

I just put a down payment on my new one a few hours before we watched that. It didn't make me regret it, but it moved redoing the interior WAY up the priority chart

They wouldn't been able to resell them, but they weren't nearly as trashed as most of their cars by the end of the show. May and Hammond t-boned (each side) Clarkson at the end, but it was low speed so nothing overly serious.

Some (myself included) might argue Hammond's was destroyed before he even purchased it....

It was suprising the price difference between the U.S. and U.K. The cheapest was U.S. $2570 (and it was in pretty bad shape), while the other two were over $3000.

It was great how Jeremy's car had the flashing "Check" light going during the first race. Made me smile.

you have to realize they didnt go out and look for the cheapest e30's. they prolly bought the first 325ic's they found for whatever the price was. about the same prices as people in the US try to get for busted e30's.

I wonder what shocks and springs Hammond's car had.

When shopping for an E30, the same car can jump up to $1000 or more if the ad says "E30" than if you say, buy a BMW 325i. When I go looking, I specifically avoid anyone that calls the car an E30. They are way too emotional and for the price of an "E30", I can usually get two 325i. I have the feeling the guys on TGUK fell in to one of the three profiles that overpay, the lazy, the ignorant and the emotional.

Put it this way, I bought a $750 BMW 325e and when I listed it as an E30 ETA, I got the right kind of buyer...

I wish i could snag some parts off of their cars. Minus the fecal matter and pubic hairs... But M-Tech 2 steering wheel? some really nice interiors too. and i would snag those AZEV's too. i think they look good. maybe not in 17s tho.

makes me think an e30 could get around their track sub 1:40 in the dry, with some suspension/brakes etc

Actually, 30 years ago is about when the US was still making good cars for a tiny bit longer. It's once they hit the mid 80s and beyond that it all went down hill. In the 90s it was all over. I think Most everything after 95 made in the us was garbage.
