88 535is 5-speed, LSD, Very Clean! SF Bay Area

Regretfully up for sale is my very nice 88 535is, the last year of the classic E28 body style. It is completely stock & original with the exception of the wheels/tires, & a short shifter. I am the 4th owner, it was purchased new at Weatherford BMW & has never left the Bay Area since. It has 248K on the working ODO, but it literally looks & drives like less than half those miles. It is Diamantschwarz Metallic over a black/tan leather interior, here is a run-down of the car...

- Very strong original M30B34, fresh oil change, recent belts/hoses, runs great & has zero leaks. Original 5-speed transmission, shifts great, no grinds, clutch is excellent. Original S3.25 limited slip differential.
- New catalytic converter, passed smog with ease. Excellent brakes with lots of life left, but also included with the car is a complete set of new front rotors & pads.
- All the front steering components (idler arm, center link, tie rods), upper & lower front control arms/bushings & sway bar end links all replaced recently.
- Bavarian Autoworks short shifter, black BMW Motorsport leather shift knob, & red-stitched leather shifter boot (looks great!)
- 17" Style 32 wheels with 225/45-17 Sumitomo tires (approx 50-60% tread left)
- Very well kept original interior with tan leather power sport seats that work great, near perfect door panels & headliner, beautiful dash & carpets (includes custom floor mats), & the rear seat looks like nobody has ever sat in it. Has original BMW cassette sound system that works & sounds good, all gauges work properly.
- The body is excellent, no rust or prior damage anywhere, all body panels are original & VIN tags match. Re-painted in 2009 due to oxidized/faded OEM paint, new window seals & hood shocks, all chrome & lights look great. Virtually zero dings/chips/scratches, minor scuffs on bottom of front air dam (no cracks in air dam or fog lights).
- Comes with original owner's manual & complete book set, & has a 100% complete & original tool set...including the green screwdrivers & un-used blue towel! OEM alloy spare with with un-used Michelin TRX tire.

The car does have a few minor issues, but nothing major. The rear power window switches on the rear doors sometimes don't work (work fine from the front), the right front power door lock doesn't always work, the light bar on the OBC is intermittant (OBC works great though), slight tear on right front seat, minor cracks in front seats, A/C needs a recharge, & may need a new trunk seal. Otherwise this car is very solid & doesn't need much, I have been using it in my daily commute with-out issues. It is fun to drive, handles well for a big car, & looks great! I hate to get rid of the car....I have only had it a short time, but I just found out I am going to be moving & just can't keep it. Asking $4500, just trying to re-coupe as much of my investment as possible. Possible part trade + cash for a 6-cyl 5-speed E30 or E36 325i/is, PM me with any questions or to set up a viewing.
