This. If the only option you can find is garbage, just go without.
Driftshop is the only decent looking/fitting cheap rep.
MAshaw is the bare minimum for quality I'd be willing to drill some holes and spend some money on paint for.

    - 98 m3, techno/anthrazit cloth, 124k and officially worthless - 89 m3, alpine/black 143k and officially old - 2000 323it, tiag/grey, 169k and officially boring

Pics as promised (well overdue), definately does the job for me due to limited options in AUS, except the riser hole spacing. Will update if any issues in the future.
Posting for research and info purposes, but hey let me know what you think

The base is different but I don’t know if the install kit is. Probably not.

I still have my templates and other bits that came with mine.

The sedan kit (which is different from the coupe kit) has been discontinued for quite a while. However you can piece it together with the exception of the clear adhesive protection strips of which I believe one is discontinued.

You can buy your own double sided adhesive 3M tape.
    07 11 9 915 031 (x4) Hex bolt with washer M6x20-Z3
    07 11 9 900 678 (x2) Hex socket head screw with washer M6x20-Z1

If you buy the protection strip that is available you can probably have someone just mirror that for the other side or make you a new set etc....

BMW tightening specs is 9 Nm. So don't go "nuts" tightening those.

I wanted to mention that what I did for my upper SHCSs (attaching riser to underside of wing), I ordered a box of fasteners and washers from McMaster-Carr in stainless steel. 18-8 is sufficient, but 316 is more corrosion resistant for a bit more money.

You could also go with an internal Torx fastener, for more theft resistance; however I've found a ball end hex driver socket to be the best way to deal with these, due to clearance issues.

My originals got a bit rusty on me...

I've read through a lot of this thread and I know it's a risk getting the ABS eBay wings (most likely mfg in China). Still was curious if anyone has had recent luck with the Gloss Black versions that have popped up on eBay. For $200-250 I'm considering taking the chance on one as I wouldn't need to paint it. Would be going on a car that would see track time and is not the cleanest cosmetically so I'm not too worried about very perfect fitment. Really just want the wing for cosmetic purposes to balance out some other mods I'm doing.

    Here's some examples:

For the track you really want a properly designed wing. It could hurt handling more than no wing if it’s not functioning properly.

And when I last looked, only the base of the wing was not available- the top “wing” itself happened to be available. Might be worth checking with the dealer…

And in all cases, (per BMW) the rear wing should not be installed without at least the front air dam extensions. Better to have the full splitter, but do not run the big wing without an air dam. Air can get under the car at speed.

I’d strongly suggest getting the Rieger front splitter. Really strong.

I ordered one of those, and arrived damaged. The Rieger has held up great over a year.

Plus so much less involved for install.

It goes in and out. I have seen it out of stock several times over the last 20 years.

That’s why the people in Latvia are reproducing the mount brackets. The tray itself is *usually* available but not the brackets and hardware.

I still have a new unpainted/unprepped MAShaw wing for sale if anyone is interested. It's just taking up space in my closet at this point.
