I recently put together a KJet pressure tester to find and correct a cold start problem with my son's new car. while it wasn't exactly cheap, the harder part was finding, ordering, and waiting for all the pieces to come from the various vendors. I only found one place that actually sells a kit, but it was over $200 and they didn't have it in stock and couldn't tell me when they would.
so my question is this, if I was to offer my kit up for rent would there be any interest? I could put together a step by step instruction sheet and probably some pictures. this kit would allow you to check the system pressure, the control pressure and the residual pressure. it allows you check the warm up regulator, the therm time switch in the WUR as well as fuel pump pressure.
I wouldn't ask much maybe ten bucks or so to help defray the cost of replacement and you'd pay shipping which I imagine would be less then $10 each way. so what do you guys think?

I think that's a fantastic idea Tom.
Are you going to make a custom wooden box to fit everything in?
Just wondering because some box sizes for usps priority are very reasonable compared to other box sizes and we've seen some of your wood work

great idea. can i check out the m3 for a few days as well?
How much would it be to ship the M3 to North Carolina for a 3-day rental? Will it come in a nice custom made wooden box?
I've rented them from kragens before, they had all the adapters to jumper into any line with a banjo bolt.
Hey Tom, I'd be really interested, specially if it came with directions. I should be getting the '81 out of storage in about 3 weeks (depending on weather, still getting a lot of snow up here). That way I could do both the '77 and '81 at once.
Eventually I want to build a permanent two gauge system for the '81 for when I start modding the motor, a mechanical gauge outside and electric inside but I also want to get a wideband and all that stuff add$$$ up. It would be helpful to be able to rent one to at least get everything baselined for now. Be more than happy to put up a deposit.

would you be wiiling to make a tread with the instructions?
or I'd be willing to give $10 just for your instructions. Already have a testing kit, but came with no instructions.
I was at my local autozone and they had a fuel pressure tester kit for rental. I've seen newer BMW's being able to use them. Anyone know if its compatible with the E21?
No need to rent one here

Would need to remember to blow out all the gas and let it air out for a bit/overnight before you try to ship it otherwise you might get hit with a hazardous material issue.
Very true, which I forgot about earlier. Especially when mailing around Christmas time.
Don't want all the gifts in the sleigh to smell like gasoline or catch fire
Reminded me of a slightly used nissan fuel pump module I sent just before last christmas.
Had to purge that thing for a very long time, even after that last drip of fuel came out of it. Wrapped it in cellophane too. What a pain in the ass that was. of course purging this module is way more of a pita to purge than just lines, gauges and fittings. My comment here is just so folks get the jist of used fuel pieces when sending through the mail system.
