    11JZ111 Projekt..drift sled

    i posted some teasers before..buuut...

1997 Z3 1.9L, 1993 Aristo 2JZGTE, PHR gt62 turbo, still need a lot of things to get it in the car..(transmission..etc. Oil pan is on the way here (sc300)

okay..its not a real build thread without pix.
    now for the kickoff
    new heart..

    skullys back

suspension..same BC Racing BR Type coils that were on the E36 sedan

    doors before..

    doors after

    rocking Chevy style

    better on BBS..17x8 +10 all around..no spacers

    gutted ready for cage building

    sign of things to come

    just another sports car

more stuff to come when i get time..looking like the 4 cyl will be appearing again at the jan 23rd MBDrift practice event, going to have to stockpile more 15s to fill the z28 wheels.

i have a shitload of parts for sale that no one is buying... and i need the $$$ from the sales to finish the car..

    e36 sedan doors, e36 sedan complete sunroof, 1992 complete m50 swap w/ 5 speed, 92 e36 sedan black dash..no cracks/no passenger airbag hole, 3.15 LSD pumpkin..etc..etc..

    somebody buy this stuff.

until then the 4 cyl is capable enough for short track drifting, but i really want 400 MOAR hp..

Nice! That car is going to be sick with the new motor. Are you going to do something to cover the doors where you've cut them?

What are you asking for the diff?

lots of work to do tomorrow to get ready for drifting sunday. building a bracket for the sparco, no time to do anything more than just weld a harness bar in between the factory rollover uprights, fixing a bad pos+ battery terminal, reattaching the frt bumper, reinstalling the dash and making the interior look decent.. and try and find a passenger seat in order to give rides.

    whew

you know, the odd thing is.. the z3, the i, is, and ti all use the same driveshaft...sooooo without measuring it i'd almost say the wheelbase is the same. i know the i, is and ti are the same wheelbase.

there will be video of today eventually. already seen a few pictures. i really like this car, but man does it chew thru tires. went thru 8 today, averaging about 5-6 full on never lift 2nd gear runs per pair. hard to believe it has an open diff too from the driving feel.

a few camera phone pics i have seen so far, and a raw video somee friends shot that should be up in a day or so. i'll post all when i have it.

pretty sure the quick tire wear is due to the rear trailing arm setup in the z3.. not easily adjustable camber, and i have the back slammed as far as it can go, removed the sleeves on the coilover springs and got another 3/4" in the back. i cant get any further down now so i'll have to work on the rear strut towers next. any ideas on correcting the rear camber so i can keep tires on this thing?

E30's have a weld in kit for camber/toe in the rear. you might want to invest in those. Or go straight spherical bearing for the trailing arms.

    Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

NP. They make eccentric bushings but they don't do much. The other thing you can do is to get shorter subframe bushings. It raises the subframe to correct neg camber and toe in.

I got mine from AKG motorsporst. Solid aluminum. A month or two after I bought them, they started selling the shorter ones. I was unhappy. I don't know if they are a direct fit. But I'm sure you can email and ask.
