Hello,
my name is Brend and i am from the Netherlands.
My car is '97 e39 with a m62b35 engine.
We're gonna change the engine by a m60b40 which i got really cheap and put an eaton m112 supercharger and water/air intercooler on it.
The car is lowered with fk Konigsport coilovers and has racing dynamic wheels and M bumpers.
Here are some rough renderings with solidworks for the intake.
We're gonna use injectors from a s62 engine.
The supercharger is from a Ford SVT Lightning.
The supercharger is going to hang underneath the intake and if everything works well the complete intake will not be higher then the stock engine cover.

Nice project.. what are you going to do about the height?
A word of Internet Forum wisdom: Disregard any advice that begins with "I've heard..."

Thanks!
Supercharger is going to hang underneath the intake, so everything clears the stock hood.
The complete intake is gonna be just as high as the stock engine cover.

If you could make more than one of those manifolds, many many people in the states would buy them... Especially if you could fit an intercooler in there somewhere.
this is lightning s/c, just for reference...
so if I understand right the s/c inlet will be facing down, am I right? and big rectangular outlet facing up into the airbox, right?
but is there enought space for the S/C inlet hose or it will hit engine block?
nice project btw.
@Impulsed7:
We are thinking about building more intakes for use with a M90 or a M112.
But first we want to build and test one for ourselves
@Nuvola Rossa:
Thanks!
Yes, you are right.
About the inlet, we hope to work around the cooling lines with a own designed inlet.
If we can work around those lines we have probably plenty of space.
But if that's not gonna work we are going to modify the inlet of the supercharger itself.
We have been designing the rest of the intake

You can also see here the connection of the hoses for the watercooler.

Intercooled? doesnt look like it?
No need for intercooler so far.. Many friends with similar
blower's note lag down low with intercooler and as
eng is 10-1 i plan to stop at 10-12psi..
Just purchased 82kms 540 donor car to swap bigger eng & trans.
Engine detailing next on priority then re-map.
Intake pipe is rough i know, so am looking forward
to neatening that too..
Car has same power at half of revs and i haven't tuned it yet.
NICE Eaton adapter.
Do you sell these?

Now that is sweet. Looking forward to the seeing the finished results and dyno graphs. Then putting one on mine.........
How do you go about tuning these bmw's? I'm in the process of turboing my 535i and its one of the last parts of the puzzle to do.
Why not build an intake to put a M90 on the 6 cylinders? I asked about it and it seemed everyone didn't think it was possible. The superchargers from the 3800 used by GM in the Buicks, Pontiac Grand Prix and Monte Carlos. I think it'd be a good blower for the displacement of these 6 cylinders
This should be really cool!
Plans have changed for my Bmw.
I bought a supercharger set up from Mosselman for a 4.6 x5 for $200.
The only thing that was missing was the bracket, wich i orderd from Mosselman for $125
Couple of weeks a go i bought a m62b44 engine with m62b46 heads in parts for $300.
Plan is to put the 4.6 cams in the 3.5 and supercharged it and see how it handle
So the project name will be: THE GRENADE
post pics soon.
Awesome mate! Cant wait!
Anything over 6psi of boost is really gonna need an intercooler. Positive Displacement blowers get pretty hot. With an intercooler, my Kenne Bell runs great.
FastrTHNu: Do you still have romeoralph's e-mail address?
He lives in my area & would love to speak to him about his setup & where he got it done, etc but it seems he isn't on here anymore...
Would be much appreciated.
Brett
Brend, why you change your mind? I'm asking because i wanted to make same project as yours with eaton m112.

Brend are you still looking at producing & selling the manifold design at the start of the thread?
