Hello, I'm a first time owner as well! Just stepped into my first 2011 BMW 335i with X-Drive and the M Performance Package about 6 weeks ago. Just sold my 05' Evo 8 MR to get the BMW. Still own my 95' Mits Eclipse GSX that is somewhat upgraded (380 whp on a Mustang AWD dyno). So far I'm really enjoying my BMW. Looking to learn alot from visits to this forum

Hey,
Just got my first BMW - 2008 328i. The car it replaced was a 2002 Chevy Cavalier... quite the upgrade!
It's VERY easy to go VERY fast in this car, hehe...
Cheers!
Hello from the Hampton Roads area!!! I just picked up my first BMW about 2 weeks ago. Its a 2007 335i Artic metallic with black interior, Premium Package, Sports Package, Auto w/ paddle shifters. What an amazing ride!!
Hi everyone, I have a '09 328i, I signed up to keep me informed on what's up in the bimmer world, from custom to where to find parts cheaper....
Just picked up a 2011 328xi, upgraded from an 06 civic.
Bought a 2007 328i convertible* 55k in mid-January 2012.
Love the car. I have a slight cam cover oil leak which I am told is covered under my extended warranty......
Would be interested to know what to expect to go wrong in the 50-80k mileage range.
Previously I put 100k miles on a 1995 525i and had no problem in selling it for a good price.
*I am told to use dry teflon on the moving parts as a preventative measure.......
Any advice welcome!

From pulling out ot the lot and to the house I can't count how many head turns I had, lol! Not what I was expecting but kinda cool. I'm 42 and feeling 30 again, life is good and I have the hots for a beautiful German girl.
I don't think you could of gone with a better choice on the wheels. Sic ride BUMPOriginally Posted by ACEE
Hey all, just picked up a 2009 328i xdrive. 6MT. black on black. bone stock and I love it. I've been a 2002 guy mostly (except a really nice e30 318is) and although I'm a bit intimidated by the technology, i'm looking forward to making it my own.
Hey everyone, I am the proud owner of a 96 328i. Purchased her new while I was stationed in Germany and did a factory pickup (pretty cool seeing 0.0 on the odometer). I have made a few modifications along the way to make her mine.
Some of the DIY modifications I have made include:
Sport suspension (coil-overs/shocks/strut tower braces)
Cold-air intake
Stainless exhaust
Cross-drilled brakes
Stainless steel braided brakelines
Hello all! Purchased a 2008 335i sedan with 42,000 a few months ago and just had the GIAC stage 2 software loaded. It's a blast to drive. Black on black with auto and sport suspension. I've owned several BMWs in the past. All the way back to (if memory serves me right) 1974 2002 Ti, 1979 320i, mid 80s 318i, early 90s 325i, new 2001 325i, new 2003 325i and now this one. Definitely the quickest I've had. And hopefully nobody will get to work on it but me.
Just wanted to say hello.
I have both a 2009 328xi sedan and a 1973 BMW 2002Tii that my dad bought back in 73.
I look forward to contributing, and have already learned a lot through browsing/searching.

I'm Steve Aikens, wife is Becky Nufer. Though I've been scanning this forum a while, I'm just now registering. With a couple 'unusual' exceptions, everyone here seems to be friendly and respectful of others - pretty much a requirement for me.
I'm an old guy that's been riding BMW Motorcycles since 1956. While in Germany on U.S. Military assignment starting in 1972, I bought my first BMW - a 1970 2002 I bought from a guy going back to the states really cheap - that I drove all over Europe from 1972 to 1976. I never once had a hiccup with that car. Totally reliable.
Here's the setup:
My wife has been caring for her 99 year old Mom in Tucson for the past few years - she's had it pretty tough. This past Thanksgiving, I was with the family in Tucson and bought her an Arctic 2008 328i M-Sport CPO. We both love the car.
I've been driving a 2004 Cadillac Deville DTS [that I also love] for 155,000 miles. My mechanic [Jason] recently asked me when I was going to be ready to sell him the car for his wife. I'd originally planned to keep the car until 200,000 miles and am a 'car guy' that is anal about keeping a car up so it looks factory new even now.
Another friend in Albuquerque loved the car I bought for my wife and has been looking for 'a deal' on ever since. Thursday he emails me a link to a 2008 328i CPO in Dallas that's silver and black. Told him the only thing I see wrong with it is non satellite radio and it's *silver and black*, but the price is very good. No satellite was a deal breaker for him. I asked him if he would have a problem with me buying the car? He said no. I travel a lot and would prefer XM available but it's not a deal breaker for the right car at the right price.
I called and made an offer which the dealer accepted. I called and told my wife I was buying the car, send her links and she asked me if I'd trade her cars because she thinks silver and black is THE color combo and things a black BMW interior is 'rich looking' - whatever that means.
I pick the car up in Dallas tomorrow, drive it to Tucson and spend some time with the family, then bring the Arctic home as my car Saturday or Sunday.
Called my mechanic - he came over and picked up the DTS up this afternoon for he and his wife to drive for the week. If she likes it - they'll own it - if not, I score a tank of gas - no harm, no foul.
Interesting note: both 328i's are M-sports, both built on the same day with only a couple minor differences other than colors.
Love it.
Hi everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Steve & I am new to the Bimmerforum. Have been a BMW owner for about 9 years now, currently drive a 2011 328i convertible.
Hi all - just bought my first BMW a couple of days ago...2008 328i with 6 spd manual. I feel like a kid again! LOVE this car & it was surprisingly affordable. Only 17k miles on it, bought it from a local Honda dealer for $23.4k. Finally got rid of my 2001 accord with 177k miles. I am a lucky man!
Hi All
Just picked up my first Bimmer ever. It is a 2011 335i XDrive, only has 1100 miles. It is fast, I love it. I already did the golf tee mod and bumper hole fix haha.
hi everyone!
just registered to bimmerforums.com and I'm the happy owner of a 2012 bmw 335i (sedan). This is my second bimmer.... my first was a 1984 318i which got me through college.
Hello this is my Wife's account. She bought a 2006 325i
right away it got four codes so I will be here a lot for a few weeks.
Thanks in advance for the info on these codes.
Greetings all! I just bought my first BMW over memorial weekend (an '06 330i) and got to know her over the 1,500 mile drive home. I've never owned a car even half as capable as this, and I was grinning like an idiot the entire way
I'm keen to keep her well maintained and looking good so I'll be absorbing as much of the great care & maintenance info posted around here as I can.
I ended up venturing into the world of German vehicles about 2 weeks ago with the purchase of my 2009 328xi e92 (coupe). Bought it from the BMW dealership in town.. 66k miles (which I assume were mostly all highway given the condition of the car), premium (with iDrive, nav, etc.) and winter packages for a little less than $21k. Went ahead and bought the extended warranty just in case, but so far, so good.
After inspecting the vehicle inch-by-inch, taking it to my trusted independent mechanic, and talking with the sales manager (who is a close family friend), I felt that this was the perfect car for me. A few more miles than I would have liked originally, but this car is EXACTLY what I wanted. After my inspection, you can tell that this was the daily driver of someone who rarely had passengers, as the carpeted floor mats in both back seats and the front passenger seat are virtually flawless, while the driver's side has the wear-and-tear one would expect with that many miles. Luckily, I was able to swing a 'free' pair of floor mats from the dealer into the purchase.
Because of the color of the interior, I'm hesitant to make too many modifications, as this is more "luxury" than "sports", but I'm planning on adding a couple of my own touches...
1. 18" Gun Metal M3 rims
2. Window tint (although I'm unsure on how dark at this point)
3. Replacing/removing the antennae
I'll post pictures shortly -- or so I've tried. Where is the "albums" link in the control panel???
