    hey Guys,
I just bought my car and just registered. Im looking for a shop in the Greenville Area that can do the dreaded E46 Torque Converter replacement. I asked a BMW specialty shop near my house and they outsource work to the local transmission shop. I'd rather have a BMW guy work on it if at all possible.
Dave are you still in the Clemson area?

I can vouch for Jeff at Foreign Cars Unlimited in Greenville. Great work and very fair prices. Family has used him for over 20 years and he caters to a ton of the area judges, lawyers, and doctors too. We all know they are tough to please.

I work there but before I did, this was the only shop I trusted with my E36 M3. We changed our name to Import Motor Werks the beginning of 2011. Don't worry, same people, same place, just a different name to let people know that we DO work on other imports as well as BMW

We also have a TON of used BMW parts for sale (as I've posted on the forum already). Stop by or "LIKE" us on Facebook for special offers! http://www.facebook.com/ImportMotorWerks

I have been to some of the Charlotte shops previously mentioned and some aren't too bad. With that being said, the only place I take the race car as well as my personal vehicles to is CMD Automotive on Griffith in Southend Charlotte. Reason being:
    1) One of the owners used to be a BMW tech with the other being a former Cup Car tech.
    2) Honesty.
    3) Reasonable prices.
    4) High quality work.

Sorry guys, I just had an incredibly poor experience with Markert Motorworks and I wouldn't recommend them. Dave came very highly recommended by several people but from the beginning there was difficulty getting in touch with him, a complete lack of information about the progression of the repair, and (most disturbingly) he repeatedly lied to me about what was going on. I was told the car would be ready by a certain day so I drove two hours to his shop only to find the car not only wasn't fixed, but it hadn't been touched in two weeks. Easily the most unprofessional shop Ive ever dealt with.

Any idea about European Performance in Raleigh? I know they have more expertise in Porches.

Billy Revis and his crew are top notch, they offer plenty of hands-on experience with BMW's earlier offerings and have the abilities and know-how to properly handle the newer vehicles as well. Very fair, extremely reasonably priced and most importantly, their specialist, not 'parts changers'. Highly recommended.

If you need help on the bimmer forum you need to first take down that sweet MB pic

....seriously a shop that recently pressed my rear e36 bearing is:

    Philip Auto Tech
    3137 Two Notch Road
    Columbia, SC 29204
    (803) 786-1135

Jason was honest about the job and got it done in time albeit slightly pricey.

My M Roady is sitting now at Korman's in Greensboro getting the "Z3 rear subframe fix" done. Very impressive place, can't wait to get it back. Ray Korman is a heck of an interesting guy to talk to.

I live in Ocean Isle Beach, NC just over the SC border. Any good shops in the Wilmington or Myrtle Beach areas?

Also any good places for tint? Eurobahn Motorsports (where I bought my car from in Greensboro right off of 40) is great at tint from what I hear since Foreign Cars Italia (dealer that sells Ferrari's, Porsches etc exclusively uses them) but I don't want to pay $250 and drive 3 hrs just for tint!

Any help with good Indy shops in Wilm/MB and tint would be much appreciated!

There are a couple places I trust my car to around here.
In Greenville and Greer I can't recommend Austrotech enough. Gunther is incredibly honest and works epically hard. Reasonable prices as well. He is off Locust Hill Rd.
    www.austrotechsc.com

For upholstery and interior work, I use Coty at www.kustomskinzinteriors.com
He's a family friend and this is his startup business. He used to work on private jet interiors and broke off into hot rods. He's replaced my pillars, recovered my seat, and replaced my shift boot. He also painted my center console/sunglass holder. Did a great job. If you talk to him, tell him Chris sent you.

Hey yall. I'm a BMW certified technician from CT. I'm currently working at Import Service Center 765 traveler's bridge road off trolley in Summerville, SC. 843-871-0906.
I can honestly say this is one of the better shops I've worked at with a very competitive labor rate, 79.80hr. We have AutoLogic, and we actually do things right at this shop. We do quality work with no BS. I hope to start seeing some of you soon!

I'm looking to get some custom pipes bent for an exhaust project I'm about to start. What are some good muffler shops, or shops in general in the Charlotte area that you would recommend for this kind of work? I usually take my car to EuroWise but if I can save myself a little bit of money by going somewhere else, I will.

For those in the western area of NC, German Motor Werks is a good option. They are a little pricey but SUPER helpful and nice.
