^Will you be able to make the first Dragon Run?
No :sad - I'll be in MO getting edumacated.
If you go, see if you can get some guys to get cam mounts.
I'm hoping to build one or two by the next run.
I've got a headrest mount now - only problem is that my cams a harddrive model and too many vibrations make it crap out.
EDIT: If you'd like, I can let you borrow the mount, it's got the normal bolt mount.

Yeah, that's what I would hope for. I will leave it up to you and the other NC guys to throw a city/place out there that we can all meet up at and then go from there!
I will definitely have to borrow that mount Ben!
im not real sure where a good middle point for everyone would be somewhere west of Durham i would imagine.
Hey Austion - I'll bring that mount on Saturday.
As a meeting point, I have no idea, but I agree - a set point is a +!
BBS RC041/BMW Style 29
Sounds like a plan on the mount!
I'll start checking some maps for a meeting point. Can anyone give me where the Dragon actually starts?
And finally, where do you guys wanna have the first and second meets at? Stevedotmil suggested an awesome place for one of them. Sand Hills in Columbia has a large open air mall with a few large and extremely open parking lots which would be perfect. He and I both agreed that no one would say anything if 15-20 or more bimmers showed up and had a meet. So for one of the venues let's go with that. Does anyone have any ideas for the other venue?
-Austin
the dragon starts in deals gap NC. pretty sure the actual road is graham TN. id like to see something more happen around here. been trying to get a friday night meet goin on in raliegh but no one besides kevinwilly showed..
Yeah, the Raleigh meet is about an hour drive or so for me. Going every week wouldn't work too well. A monthly is a possibility after I get back from school.

Columbia is 4 hours for me so i would miss that one, thats a hike!
I think finding a large parking garage, like the ones in downtown Charlotte, would be good if the meet is on Saturday morning or after work. Plenty of space and it can't rain us out.
That's a great idea too Godzilla! That's how they did import alliance in atlanta this past year. And jo3y that's exactly why we are gonna have 2! One down here and one up there so it gives everyone a chance to attend at least one if not both like myself!
Might as well do Raleigh and Columbia - two states, two capitals? Seems like there are more members here from around the Raleigh area than from around Charlotte.
Plus, travel distances would be pretty much reversed, meaning that people that drive 3-4 hours to the Columbia meet, would have almost no drive. And people that only have 1-2 hours drive would be on the farther end. Seems fair, as long as most people decide to actually drive that far once a year for a meet.
Greensboro, NC is another good option as it's not too far from Raleigh and pretty much closer for everybody else.
Columbia, from what I can see, is the best location in SC - it's central to everybody.
BBS RC041/BMW Style 29
Greensboro gets my vote, except it's Greensboro. But the distance seems fair. Unless you're from Cherokee, in which case you're probably going to a TN meet.
Greensboro and Columbia are both 2 hours for me

I really think we are on to something here. Columbia is a good place for the SC people because like it was said before, it's centrally located. Sand Hills is good because they have tons of food and stuff right there. Plus, it's literally less than 3 minutes from my house so if anyone needs a helping hand with something mechanical or something like that we are close.
I don't have a problem driving a couple of hours to get to the other meeting spot. Road trips are great. I like the idea of the Mountain drives. I went on one with the local Z (Nissan) club in October and that was a blast. I didn't even realize I was 8 miles from VA till Sunday when I was washing my car and looked at the map. I was in Sparta, NC. I have video camera's as well. I just have to find a good way to mount them in the Z.
2010 Black C300 Sport Mercedes Benz
2008 Hellrot Zed 3.0i Sport (traded)
Can you repeat that because I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am?
I would prefer Raleigh over Greensboro... They are only 45min-hour away from each other and plus when it comes time for the dragon run all the guys on the western side of the state will have a lot less travel time than the others so I think it will even out
My vote goes to Columbia/Raleigh.
Just for a tally,
SC
Columbia - 3 (sirius815, eightgodzillas, stevedotmil)
NC
Raleigh - 2 (sirius815, Classicbimmer)
Greensboro -1 (eightgodzillas)
Oh Steve - the are a good number of "suction" mounts available. I'm also brining my headrest mount Saturday for Austin, but have a look - it's cheaply homemade. Might be what you're looking for.

my vote is for raleigh as well
Put me down for Raleigh and Greensboro (all depends on my schedule though). I doubt I'd be able to make Columbia.
^Do you mean Raleigh or Greensboro? We're not gonna have the two meets both in NC. That wouldn't be fair for us down in SC. My votes are for Columbia and Raleigh.
SC
Columbia - 4 (sirius815, eightgodzillas, stevedotmil, E30 auddie)
NC
Raleigh - 4 (sirius815, Classicbimmer, jo3y, E30 auddie)
Greensboro -1 (eightgodzillas)
Depending on the date, I'd be willing to go Columbia as well.
