hi,
When I install Easy DIS V.44 I get the following error message:
Harddisk partitioning failed
Installation aborted
Check CD and drive
Can you help?
Thanks
There is a problem with your EasyDIS installation disk. You have several options:-
Download a copy from the 4shared site and
1. mount it with Daemontools; or
2. burn it as an .iso disk and set the CD drive to use the .iso to boot from
I mounted the Easy Dis V.44 iso image in daemon tools
The error remains.
Basically my computer ( Asus pentium 4 hd 120 GB ram 1GB) the are have two partition : C and D. It's the problem?
I think this is the problem,
The size of the disk has to be 18.635, and allocate all disk space.
Therefore must format hard disk ?
You have to reinstall DISv44 in VMware again from the beginning. No need to format the whole drive.
OK
thanks
I'm having a hell of a time with this too... Everything I'm using is from the 4Shared site (which currently seems to be down), and I've tried doing this 100 different ways, 97 of which followed the instructions (however, for sake of transparency, I'm using Oracle's VirtualBox rather than VMWare). The system just will not get past this point. I've allocated the proper disk space as outlined above, I've tried upping it to 20GB. I've set the boot order to run off the CD. I've got a relatively new laptop (Windows 7 64 bit, 3GB RAM/320GB HD), so no issues with memory or allocating extra space. I can't count how many hours I've burned up trying to figure this out (this being the 2nd time around after giving up a few months ago). I'm seriously at my wit's end and I need help!!!!
BTW, the car is a 99 323i Convertible (E36) and I'm trying to "finish" my auto to manual swap (which has been done for about 6 months). I live in California and the CEL is an issue, but more importantly it just hasn't ever been quite as smooth as it was as an auto-- revs hang between shifts, idle is a little sketchy, etc. I care more about that than I do the light. Anyhow, after countless hours of research, it seems that the best way to go about this is with GT1/DIS. If anybody recommends an easier way, I'm all ears.
Thanks to everyone that has contributed so much to this forum!
As it turns out, this software just will not install on virtualbox. I finally got VMware and everything installed just fine. Thanks again!
Increase hard disk size to 20gb
