Forum member e21newcomer has posted pics from Vintage 2011nthat include two Baurs: the black E30 TC2 and the red E30 TC2. Kudos for grabbing those!
There was also a 2002 Baur but I don't see where he got that one. Maybe I missed it.
I was unable to post them here----they are on flickr. (UPDATE: PICS ARE POSTED BELOW.)
Not sure if this will work:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Pictures\Baurs\Baur Black TC2 at Vintage May 2011.htm
The black Baur is picture: DSCN1809.
It has a front Euro-style plate: BAUR TC
The red Baur is: DSCN1796. Front New York plate is: 84Baur
I saw another pic of this red Baur, and the 2002 Baur is parked 2 or 3 cars away from it.
thanks for the pics, e21newcomer!

Thanks to HarryPR for posting this Youtube video he found in 2002FAQ:
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA-LV_F89o8&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
Look for the following, amongst everything else:
50 secs: red E30 Baur
1:15 : the white E21 that HarryPR referred to with the Motorsport air dam
4:53 : the other red E30 Baur
5:22 : Steve's E21
6:19 : the white 2002 Baur with the Targa roof on the front hood
6:38 : the black E30 Baur TC2
8:16 : the other white E21 with the steel wheels
So, three TC2 Baurs, and one 2002 Baur.
Maybe we can get some E21 TC1 Baurs to attend the Bimmerfest East in august!

HarryPR,
I found this for your friend Lawrence Charlemagne:
... From ‘02 Fest East, September 12, 2004 .... CT Valley Chapter BMWCCA... (this is the chapter I just joined, so perhap I will meet up with him soon)
"And, of course, by longstanding tradition, Best Paint and Best Overall trophies went to Lawrence Charlemagne’s outstanding 1976 ’02 from Wappingers Falls, NY. Lawrence has won one if not both of these categories for so many years that we keep telling him he needs to retire! (He was beaten one year – by ONE point!)"

You have posted pics of his silver Baur.

And I bet that he could still win those awards. His '02 is still in pristine condition after all these years. Haven't seen his Baur, except in pics, but it's probably just as immaculate. Maybe you'll get a chance to see it "in the metal" at one of the chapter events.

Yes, he brought the car last year. It is an exceptional car with many cool details. It has E30 318i fuel injection and the engine is spotless. It even has power windows which look like the car came with them for the factory!
He does own a shop up in NY. We chatted for quite a bit back at the '10 event and he is truly a nice guy.
Don't remember if I posted a pic of his car's engine before, so here it goes:

Ok, boys and girls... It's official! Count me in for Bimmerfest East! My son will accompany me. That makes 6 E21s... Including 1 Baur!!
Keep those cards and letters coming in! 6 E21s and counting, I know we have some more Baurs down that way.
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en...5966&z=3#bmb=1
According to this map, there may be 15 or 20 E21 Baurs in the Mid-Atlantic region. Is anyone available to help make a Baur showing at Bimmerfest! It is a Come-As-You-Are Party... Or at least, it is for me!
Damn the torpedoes! Full steam ahead!
Mark your calendars! Hope to see you there!
Charbel will be there with "3 or 4 E21s"!!! Whoa!

Bill
Hi Bill,
I haven't done a hard count in quite a while, and I have been contemplating exactly that. So your comment is well timed.
My rough estimate is 50-75, but there are still unconfirmed sightings to be tracked down... Some of which could very well turn out to be new Baurs, while others may be sightings of cars already known to us. We have had some of both in the past couple of months.
Give me a little time, and I will try to come up with something comprehensive about where we are to date.
If you look thru the recent posts, you will see that we have come across several great new Baurs (previously unknown) out at Bimmerfest 2011, and we are hot on the trail of a few others... Including one that has turned up in pics right here in CT. I was at a great British car show today .....
http://ctmg2005.homestead.com/files/...avethedate.pdf
And ran into my friend, Josh (former owner of Baur #917) told me he saw the other CT Baur recently in Mystic, CT. That is a known car... We have seen pics of it.... But we haven't tracked it down yet. That is increasingly the way it is going lately.... following up on little leads like this.
And we are increasingly coming across the same car multiple times. That tells me we have narrowed the field to some extent.
I think we have info on most of the Baurs in the US. We have a bunch of leads to track down.... But we are slowly whittling away at it. I think we have plucked most of the low-hanging fruit.... But who knows how many are hidden away in garages.... So it may well be a slow and tedious process from here on out.
We have a lot of help out there though, ... Lots of eyes and ears, and boots on the ground. This time of year brings the convertibles out of the woodwork. I am optimistic that we will continue to be able to identify more Baurs, because I think we have been successful in raising the awareness of the model ..... E.g., We have received a number of tips from folks out of the blue.... And it is really a fun project!
So thanks for asking, and stay tuned! We are not nearly done! "We have only just begun to fight!".

Bill,
Here is the Google map of all the Baurs that we have located or had reports about:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en...0262f15966&z=3
That may give as close an estimate as we have for the time being. We have spotted a lot of Baurs, nailed down quite a few, but still more work to be done.
For example, we have a lead on that 82 323i that was near you in Buffalo MN a couple of years ago, but despite emails and postings... nothing has turned up yet. It may yet show up at a car show somewhere up there one of these days.
Keep your eyes peeled!
