Been playing single player like a mad man this morning...however, every 5 minutes or so Java crashes. My inventory gets saved but none of the work that I've done on the world does. =\

Well, I know that the very first three are picking up an item in your inventory, hacking out a piece of wood barehanded, and building a crafting table... I'm sure they start to get more complicated from there.

I'm wondering if any of them will be retroactive. Apparently the foundation for stat tracking was laid in 1.4, but I guess we'll find out one way or another.

I ran into a problem running this game on my laptop. It is very laggy and I can't figure out if it is the game its self lagging or the internet I am on during the week blows (its dsl) and is lagging the game.

How powerful is the laptop?

I tried running this on my laptop, which is "gaming" oriented, and it still had framerate issues... try turning down the draw distance.

Or get the downloadable copy and run it off the hard drive... though I don't think it'll make a huge difference.

it isnt the most amazing laptop lol. I run it off my harddrive but i will try to the graphics and settings some more.

I now have something else Minecraft related to kill more of my time that I am already short on.

I also downloaded that survival Island map and have it underway. It is very fun and difficult.

You can download a zip file of the world and give it a try.

My son has it going too and both of us got our ass kicked by the archer dungeon. I used the same, fill it with sand, approach as Simon and Lewis. A creeper changed that plan for me.

Yeah, it popped up, looked at me, I tried to back away and hit a wall, kssssssssssss BOOM! I actually survived the explosion so I could enjoy 7 archers using me for target practice..... for about 3 seconds.

I think I died 6 more times after that trying to get things back under control. I also have a surplus of 6+ swords now.

My son had me type in "theworstseedever" to create world and it is pretty jacked. Lots of zombies and you spawn right next to a dungeon with a zombie genrator in it, on the surface.

He had me type another seed a while back and it made a very majestic world of cliffs and waterfalls.

Anyone have anything interesting?

I did the survival island challenge in 6 hours. Was brutal and fun as hell with a friend.

Beta 1.5 released this morning around 10 EST per Notch's Twitter.

I just played with it a little and it started to rain, the rain goes through sky lights / glass block on the ceiling.

Pretty cool. The achievements are kind of corny.

Game seems smoother too.

I have a problem, I have a pet Wolfe and if you right click it it will sit and stay. Well I left it in the stay position and saved the game and it is stuck there now.

Oh, and do not hit one, it attacks you. I had to put one down.
