btw, anyone have a survival server up?

We have a SMP server going on OT.com that is pretty small and has a pretty good group. I am also a admin on there too. I could ask the guy who owns/runs the server if its ok to let bfc crew in on this.

I recommend starting a good ways away from the spawn because most of that area has been mined clean of diamonds and other good stuff. This is a SMP so dont be asking to have shit spawned for you because its not going to happen.

it is a bit hypocritical but BFC OT is private site. Not to many little kids hanging out here. Griefers are a huge problem in this game.
Private servers are the best servers.
Not to mention that I am a server admin and can pretty much do what I want .

Also, griefers aren't a problem if you have protection. On my server no randoms can use fire, lava or TNT. And at night the server turns on a whitelist so randoms can't even join.

The only thing people can do is steal, build or destroy. Building and destruction takes too long, and I setup a command to help users stash their stuff in secret locations.

The worse thing we worry about are creepers and topside lava flows that burn down forests.

Hello,

I've been working on this map for a few weeks. It's set in a jungle (I planted hundreds of trees) and there are 4 houses. 3 connected by rails. 1 is a pyramid. There is a fully functioning underground farm and a huge mob dungeon under the first house.

The mob dungeon spawns all types of mobs and generates a ton of harvest-able goodies.

There are many mines with 2 of them being gigantic deep within the earth and a passage that links to the house that's not connected to the rail.

P.S. The trees are mutant trees = larger wider fatter taller than regular trees.

P.P.S There are automated cart systems between the houses but since the 1.3 update the saves no longer remember what speed the carts were doing and therefore you may need to restart the auto-cart-booster-loops under each house.

Has anyone tried the 3D mode, it is kind of cool, I had cheap cardboard glasses I would imagine some nice glasses and it would be more fun.


Also, what is the point of joining together on a server? Is it so you can work together to get more accomplished faster?

I made a good size Fort and working on a Castle. It really is addicting when you start to play this game.

I hate the level I'm working on. I didn't go grand enough. I started a level with a condo at the top, I also have a giant lava lamp going down the middle. But it just doesn't feel special.

I've got a badass condo though.

Anyone else getting a black screen of death while they are playing.

I have a "spot" in one world that when I cross the invisible line the screen goes black and I lose anything I had done since the last save.

Now in every world I generate it is occurring frequently. So much so, that last night I just stopped messing with it in frustration.

I am running Windows 7 on a Asus Republic of Gamers Laptop.

Yeah, went there after posting that. It seems the game crashed when you have the distance set to far view. If you set it to normal the problem goes away.
