Please verify meaning of instrument cluster light

Today a light came on in my instrument cluster and I am not quite certain what it means. I think it may be telling me that the brake pads need to be replaced, but I am not sure. The light is a red circle with 3 red blocks on both the outside right and outside left of the circle. The actual light is slightly to the left of the ABS light in the cluster. If someone could please verify that this is the brake pad sensor light (or something else) I would appreciate it.

    Thank you

:O: ---> this is an attempt to illustrate the light, but imagine a colon with 3 dots instead of 2.

spot on - the technical name is " brake linings worn" in other words, the pads are worn to the stage they need replacing.

My pad sensor has also gone off, however I was just in the brakes and they seemed to have a great deal of life left. What's the deal?

Your pad sensor wire is broken.
