They work guys.

m3nsah you should post some pics of the angle on your car, that'd be much appreciated.
Jacques Cousteau could never get this low
I just bought an e36 325, pretty well setup for drifting. I'm getting 41 degrees of angle on the outside tire (so the left tire, with the rack turned all the way to the left).
I thought spec was about 38 degrees. Does this mean the car already has rack spacers in it? What's the next step for more angle?

Your saying that 3 degrees is the most you get with rack spacers? what size?, when i installed mine wich i dont have on right now, it seems more than only 3 degrees.
it might have the stock limiter washers removed.
Just curious if anyone runs any toe out on the front end WITH limiters - i used to run 1.5 degrees toe out in my old car for better turn in @ autox, but it would help with a little bit more angle on the outter tire. I'm planning on running 1.5 degrees toe out on the e36 with some 4mm spacers.
tc
i run toe out.. big time.
idk if you can see it in this photo.. kinda

i dont think any E36s came with limiters? just stock lock washers which act as a limiter. so yes. you probably do have limiters lol.
I'll take 4 of those spacers if you still have them
You already have this thread started so feel free to steal the pics and info below to make your post a DIY guide for others.
I picked up the spacers from McMaster and all you need to do is ensure that the ID and OD are the same as your rack.
1. Jack the car up. You dont need to remove the front wheels but it can make things easier.
2. Slide the boot back and unscrew the inner tie rod
3. Remove the limiter washer and throw in the new spacer(s). Dont think that 20mm worth of spacers is ideal because you will just smash your tire into the frame and run the teeth off of your rack.
I went with 5mm because it clears the frame no problem but still adds a lot of angle.
4. Add loctite... sh!t is cheap and its a lot easier to drive with your tie rod connected..
5. Reconnect the inner tie rod and replace the dust cover.
6. ALIGN THE CAR! You will have major toe out at this point and it will feel like you are driving a water bed.
You can do this by eye if you simply adjust the outter tie rod to compensate for the spacers. if you add 5mm, then pull the outer tie rod IN 5mm...
7. Wheels on, jack down, b.out

mint thread guys , any one running a coil over rear end in a e36??
That is 5mm worth of spacers, and in my case involved 5 1mm spacers
Can it be dangerous to stack 5 1mm spacers ?
Yes
Status: Someone put glitter in my oil. Wait. Why's all my oil outside the engine? What's that knocking?
What is the right dimension for an e36 rack ? 18in 25out 5mm thick ?
I haven't had any problems with my stacked 1mm spacers. I daily my car and they've been on there for almost a year now.
I'd check them once in a while, but with loctite applied to nice dry clean threads you should be all good.
what is the good washer size for an e36 ?
