Carl - I think we should start calling you the shark hunter.

1986series6 - see attached. I'll again assure you that S201A is mistranslated....it refers to the sports-programmable transmission option...I still get a kick out of that every time.

M6smitten - The options sheets don't give specific radio options...I believe that the only thing I've seen about radios is the theft deterrent option. See attached for your options list.

Lee - well...let's get you fixed up just in case. See attached.

Please read the first post of this thread. You can go to the generic online VIN decoder if you like:

Unforunately, I don't have access to vehicles as new as yours. I'm a bit limited on what I can access.

Once again, I simply can not access records for cars this new, and this service is offered for the E24 chassis only. I have mentioned this numerous times throughout the thread, and it is clearly stated in the first post. I apologize if I sound rude or short, but I do find it aggravating when people do not review thread titles and initial or recent posts. /end rant.

Please stop submitting VIN's that are outside of the scope of this thread (read: non-E24) as any further requests of this nature will simply be ignored.

BTDT, Alex. Ignorance (as in, ignoring) really is bliss.

To each his sufferings: all are men,
    Condemn'd alike to groan—
    The tender for another's pain,
    Th' unfeeling for his own.
Yet, ah! why should they know their fate,
Since sorrow never comes too late,
    And happiness too swiftly flies?
    Thought would destroy their Paradise.
    No more;—where ignorance is bliss,
    'Tis folly to be wise.

Thanks, Alex! Was trying to figure out if it was an L6. I think it is, but my mechanic disagreed.

If it no longer has the badging on the rear, then you would have to gauge it by the interior package. If it's all leather...headliner, dashboard, center console, etc., then it'll be an L6. Will also have an automatic transmission if it hasn't been swapped by you or a previous owner.
