    Alex,

Thank you so much that was really quick. So my car does not have a servotronic box right because it's not under the options?

The reason why I ask is because mine's pissing power steering fluid and I want to order "new" rebuilt one online. I'm seeing two types of non servo's and only one type of servo and I'm clueless which to order. May I ask your intake on this?

    Thanks again!

edit: seems like my car is pretty bare. I noticed it doesn't have power seats as option but mine has power seats with memory, same with fog lights, m-tech steering wheel, heated seats, etc. Is this because the Canadian cars came standard with this stuff already?

You may certainly ask, but I'm not exactly sure what to tell you on that one as it falls outside of my area of expertise. Might be best to dig a little deeper on the search or start a new thread on the topic if you can't find your answer.

mmorgan, see attached. These translations do give a good laugh. I do not speak German, but I feel solidly assured that your first option is a gross mistranslation. Does your car have the sports mode automatic transmission? I think that's what this probably points to. Google says, "3 DRIVING PROGRAMS F.4-SPEED AUTO"

    Alex,
Thanks for the laugh. Yes I have the sport mode automatic transmission but I think I'll enjoy it just a little more now.

I hope the info you provide is better than the info you provided Ed Smaglik on the car you made him such a "great deal" on. I would be embarrassed to show up here after that fiasco.

Apologies for the delay - I missed the post! Options attached. Don't see a transmission type listing though. It isn't included on these sheets. Did you get that info from the online VIN decoder? That website is down for me at the moment due to wifi issues.

    Alex,
I appreciate you looking that up for me. The online vin decoder (of course I can't find the link )- was one from one of the 2 previous e24 vin 'lookup' threads). I think it just had an incorrect default manual transmission entry as there is no 280/5 option for the '87 635csi that I know of.

Hey Dude, a BIG thank you for offering this type of service, it's what owner forums are all about and when people like you put the time and effort in it makes for a great site.

OK, mine is an E24, 89 model bought originally in England, July 1989 for the princely sum of £39,330 and i have the original sales receipt, when the exchange rate was 1989-07-01 1.6268, so the vehicle was US$63,982 - Happy days. The last seven digits of the VIN are 8188375. I can supply the whole VIN if it provides more info.

Callum - Just the last 7 is all I need. Pretty slick list of options, too.

Alex, I owe you! anytime you too need help or are searching for a component feel free to ping me callum.dalgleishAThotmail.co.uk
I bought the car with full history, including every service invoice, tax discs and MOT's (the UK Gov. legal annual road check) and she has only 73k miles. UK Dealers were licensed to convert 635 High-Lines into M series car so the dealer designation is an M635csi. Thanks again alex and genuine offer to help you in the future if you need anything. Callum.

Thank you, sir! Much appreciated. Sounds like you got an excellent deal with a full service history. The "service history" on my most recent 6er purchase was a handwritten list of "completed work" on a 3"x5" note card!
