Im pretty pumped. Just got a notice that my copy I pre ordered from Amazon has shipped. Almost hard to believe that GT5 has FINALLY been released!
Mine too!
My facebook status:
"My newly born GT5 has been overnighted! My Logitech G27 is fresh out of the box and ready to go. Ever see the movie the Aviator with DiCaprio as H. Hughes where he grew a beard and locked himself in a room and peed in jars? Yeah well, I already have a head start with the beard."

Man I wish I could have gone into a store and just picked one up. Part of me is tempted to just cancel it and get one for 299 from Amazon so I have just cant make up my mind if its worth the $40 to have it now. Thats funny you have everything to play it except the console.
Edit: Now that i look Amazon is sold out of them so im pretty much SOL on that. Looks like I will be waiting.

The audio over DVI thing is kind of a mess and not actually part of the spec. To get HDMI audio over DVI, the best I can tell is that you need a DVI-D cable (the one with an extra group of pins, NOT like the photo you linked to) and hardware that supports it.
Video, however, should work just fine. So, if it comes to it, you will just have to send the audio out from the PS3 to your speakers separately.

Sorry, there are two DVI-D specs:
What I have been lead to believe is you need the 27 PIN "Dual Link" cable to be able to have any chance at moving HDMI audio. Bearing in mind your display would need to support receiving audio to its DVI port.

Can't wait until I am out of work.....I will play until I have a coupe tonight no matter how long it takes.
Regardless of no cockpit view, I want it and omg I will be upset if you can't boost it!

Installing now.... god this install file is big!
edit: cant wait to drive the coupe on the ring in the rain, despite having no wheel which will suck and kill half of the experience

Sad to say but the game is shaping up to be a real drag just like GT4 was.
It was a game I tolerated more than I enjoyed on account of the impressive car selection.
But why the hell can't the m coupe get into a game like Forza or Hot Pursuit?
As if the average joe on a PS3 is gonna give a rats ass about pretending to drive an R8/DB9/etc.
Forza FTW, I gave up on grand turismo ages ago. Great cars but the game is a mess.
