Hey everyone! I have two little ones and occasionally I will end up driving some of their friends around in the back seat as well. I want to make sure all the kids are as safe as possible back there. Is there a manufacturer that makes a three-point seatbelt for the middle rear seat of the e38? does BMW? Thanks!

Yup. Third three point seat belt was an option in euroland, along with a centre headrest.

OK I have 3rd seat belt on the rear seat , but it is not a 3-point? This is how all the rest E38s are - the regular set up. So how can this be retroed? Edwin is there any write up for the rest of us

Are there any engineering limitations on a North American retrofit then? I mean, it looks like the shoulder strap is tied into the same anchor as the driver side rear shoulder, but will doubling up the force exceed the load limits on a NA anchor?

So, what's involved in doing this ? I don't see any parts listed in Real OEM or I'm not looking at the correct euro model/year.

No... use this as an opportunity... tell her it can be retrofitted but in order to make it work correctly you have to do rear AC, Hydro trunk, and any other retrofits that you'd like Edwin to ship over...

That, from what I can tell on RealOEM is the normal left/right rear seat belt - which in our cars happen to mount in the center in our cars and buckle on the outside. The picture provided by E shows the two belts using the same upper harness output "port".

Was this retrofit ever confirmed or shown how to do? I bought a center upper belt for my car, but don't see where it would fit behind the rear electric seat back. There is space for the left side belt retractor, but no clear place for the center belt retractor. Hoping I didn't buy this for nothing.Cody here a little teaser pic
