looking good Jon....I really like that wrinkle finish...can you do wrinkle orange on a valve cover?
Mike I can't say I have seen wrinkle orange but its got to be out there. I will keep an eye out.
E21 booster fully painted and in - not bad at all really, just laying under the dash is what sucks - back is aching haha
Pedal is all hooked up and the threaded shaft is perfect (thanks to bemdub for helping out with that) and the brake switch engages, all is good. Next...

Looks great man! I know we have had our differences in the past but can't deny good work. Beautiful and well done I must say!
Thanks! No worries man, whatever we debated i've forgotten - I make sure not to take any thing stupid personally
ghey
Mike - I contacted someone about the powder. No go - but they'll custom match/mix, so you could get a orange wrinkle made, but you need to pay $75 flat design fee and must buy a minimum of 5 lb. Thats prob about ... $150 or more just for the color all in all.
Well, I couldn't sleep knowing that I didn't address the oil pump nut and knowing that the motor would have to come out if the oil pan gasket had to be replaced, that troubled me too. So, today I was off from work and I decided to take action. This also means I'll have the oil pan coated. I won't say what color until it's done The downside is that it required pulling the flywheel and clutch again, but whatever, small issue in the grand scheme of things. I can't wait to put the new oil pan hardware on it!
Brakes all topped off ready to be bled. Pedal engages the brake light switch, everything is perfect thanks to bemdub for helping me rethread the booster.
Mmm super blue. I had like a teaspoon amongst 3 or 4 cans, so I decided to suck it up and just buy 2. I'll be set for another 3 - 5 years Clutch awaiting to go back on.

I wouldn't keep a can of that for more than two years or so, especially after it's open, or any brake fluid for that matter. Just sayin'. Lookin' good!
I really do prefer people who do not have access to powder coating equipment.
Mostly because there's no company in about 200miles radius of where I live that performs powder coating services. Pisses me off.
(there's no jealousy in this post)
oof 150 in paint before any coating gets done? Pricey but not TOOOO bad.. Maybe I'll have a few other little odds and ends done..when the time comes Im sure we'll be in touch. Thanks for the info Jon.

what machine/tool did you use to powdercoat your engine?
Lubs!
Looking for an E39 belly pan , passenger front inner fender liner …
Thanks! Ordered some last minute parts to get this oil pan back on when it's done. Pumped.
