It is wrinkle red, you can't really paint or powder coat the shitty magnesium covers in a gloss or flat or it looks wavy as heck.

    Thanks guys

Going to try and powder coat some more stuff this weekend. Got to pull the trans to get to the oil pan again - what color should I do the oil pan and t-stat housing?

Maybe stay with the wrinkle red theme - for at least the T-stat cover. Silver for the oil pan!

With a red pan, it'd be real easy to see any oil leaks - but probably just as hard to keep clean as the silver. Of course it'd go well with the theme.

Jon, how's the quality of those headers? Do you think I would crack those if I ran them on my race car?

Don't over do the red I did the same combination on my car with the red t stat housing as well as the valve cover and it's a little much; with that being said I like your idea of the wrinkle black on the thermostat housing.

As far as the oil pan it would be cool to see it wrinkle red and that would give each opposing sides of your engine (your valve cover and oil pan) a hint of symmetry as far as color goes.

Yeah because this is the only car I'm building and all Any monkey can put a motor in. I am trying to make it clean. Apparently california doesn't know a PA winter. I spent the last 3 weeks cleaning out the garage. Thats 3/4 of the month you talk about.

I'd go for a red t-stat and oil pan, as stated before it'll make it easy to spot any leaks but a bit harder/more annoying to keep clean. Looks great so far.

I say clean the oil pan, leave it alone, and then black thermostat housing.

Hey nub, take those motor mounts off and sand the bolt hole surroundings and the ground surroundings or you will end up with a bad block to chassis ground.

Oh yeah, and I love the overspray on the head.

How do you plan on dropping the engine in? Move the tool box? Turn the car sideways? How does the engine hoist roll on that mat stuff?

Looks good Jon as always. Are those my engine mounts looking pretty?
