VMWare with DIS/SSS

Hi - I am partway through setting up DIS v57 & SSS v32 on a Dell / Windows XP Pro laptop with the usual China made Ediabas interface cable with serial connector. I have the Ediabas and INPA installed and have tested it connected to my 2003 E66 735Li and it all works great (even though the INPA interface shows battery and ignition off), I can communicate with all ECUs and control modules.

I am now trying to get the setup to work with the VMWare DIS v57 & SSS v32 Progman installation. Diaghead Emulatohas been installed and setup too.

I am having trouble configuring the VMWare network settings.

Following the instructions that came with the software I have done the following in the Virtual Network Editor:-

Set automatic bridge to VMnet0

Enabled VMNet1 (Local Area Connection 2)

VMnet2 thru VMnet9 are disabled and not bridged

On VMnet1 the Subnet IP Address is set to 192.168.68.0
and the Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0

The DHCP settings are given as follows:- Start IP Address 192.168.68.1
End IP Address 192.168.68.254

When I try to apply these settings I get the message 'Error - the end IP address must be greater than the subnet IP address'

Any ideas?

Yes,
once you change the subnet on vmnet1 to 192.168.68.0 you must then apply the changes before editing dhcp settings.

I edited my vm settings and was able to change them running vm as admin...I still get net error 0009 timeout. Do I have to go back to edit adapters inside of dis as per davids instructions?
