Well no luck. Looked in the manual, the emissions sticker under the hood and did about 20 mins searching. Well what is the spark plug gap for a 2000 inline 6. Thanks very much...
Already bought ngk irodiums, couldnt order bkr6equp. I dont have any cards, I use cash everywhere, and no im not joking either. But I like to double check the gap to make sure its correct. Only because some people who handle things at work like to drop things, a cardboard box dosent protect a normal 1 prong spark plug from bending.
OK, now with a serious face since you didn't catch the joke:
Almost all modern plugs don't need to be gapped. Why? Because the way they are designed directs the spark itself to the most efficient gap in relation to the engine, so think of modern spark plugs as "variable". It really doesn't matter, even if they were smashed during handling.

Really? well i knew it was a joke just people dont believe me when i saw i only use cash... haha
Yep, Platinums, Iridiums and plain 2-prong or 4-prong plugs are fine just the way they are. The only spark plugs that still need to be gapped are standard 1-prong basic (copper?) plugs.

e39bond007,
I already answered to your other thread on spark plug. Here it is:
This is the definitive Spark Plug thread:

If you use Single-prong NGK BKR6EGP, then the gap is 0.032" (You can also gap it to 0.028"). Search the forum for single-prong, it works just fin and much cheaper than the 4-prong garbage.
Thread on single-prong is here, thread #13:

The correct spark plug is Bosch FGR7DQP or NGK BKR6EQUP and the gap is not to be adjusted!

you can't gap the iridiums.
P.S. take those plugs back.
Not true,
I just gapped the Iridium plug on my 2007 Mazda6. No problem.
The reason they say don't gap the Iridium plug is that if you are not careful you can knock off the Iridium tip (which is very tiny).
That is all. But if you are careful you can gap it.

I have a 2000 528i. Put Iridiums in 2 years ago. Forgot to check the gap but decided it didn't matter. I figured 32mpg at 75 mph means they're OK.
bought some ngk bkr6equp's today : ) and returned iridiums
