[Video] BMW E39 M5 Straight Pipes VS. Audi S5 Cutout Valves

Here are a few pulls that a friend of mine and myself did earlier today. We did quite a few pulls, but these three seem to be the best performed out of the bunch. His exhaust setup is downright insane...demonic perhaps the best way to describe it. Freakishly loud Anyways, enjoy:

The results were quite as expected, his car definitely packs a strong punch top end.

an uncorked e39 M5 always a treat to hear. i though the S5 would be faster than that?

Nice runs! honorable loss indeed. Did the M5 have a passenger too?

with all do respect to the OP the S5 doesnt have a very good power/weight ratio compared to the M5

    almost 3900lbs @ 354hp crank

A better closer vid would be of the M5 vs the e92 M3

Indeed, the P/W ratio isn't favorable for the car, it's just too heavy for being a coupe. Nobody had a passenger, I just leaned over a bit to pivot the camera to follow the M5

Awesome vids. Now we need to see that m5 up against that e92 m3 in your sig.

Nice race. My friend also bought an s5 and wanted to test it against my car. I have a mail-in flash now and bolt-ons with the stock turbo to put less stress due to the higher mileage but anyways. We had a few runs in germany from 20 and 40 mph and I'd pull a few cars to 100. Good to see it'd still run similar to a straight piped m5. We're going to get some more runs so I can finish my 4th gear though.

An E46 M3 is a more realistic run for the S5.
S5 certainly trumps the M5/m3 with it's sexy factor. I love the look of that car.
    Nice vids, regardless.

I was planning on grabbing some exhaust footage of his car as well, but we ran short of time, hopefully I can record something soon; it's sounds too epic to be over looked.

Thank you. I've been trying to hunt down one for a bit (stock or lightly modded would do). If I do, I'd like to record some pulls as well. I love the looks also, it's truly a stunning car.
