Diff swap Qs for the slushies

    Hey all

As I understand it, the auto equipped E36s come with a 3.91 rear end?

What would the adverse affects of going to a 4.10 or even (egads!) a 4.27 be?

Am I nutz for even considering this?

Also at looking at the Quaifes ? Suggestions for a lowly slushie jockey?
    eeeks!

I am also a lowly slushie, but soon to me manual. The result of going to such a high gear ratio would be better acceleration but your top end is gonna suck! With the 3.91 stock auto on my '93 325i, i can only get it to 145 or so, i am swapping to a M3 LSD 3.15 when i put my maunal in =)

I know the stock 323is uses a 3.91 rear for the auto, but that sucker will take me all the way up to the magic 155 I'm sure.

I've played up to 142 and it still had room to go and plenty of power to work with.

I know the 328 does not use the 3.91 rears though. You may want to check your manual to be sure.

Every motor tranny combo had a different set of rears, your BMW has alot of options available to see an improvement.

    Hey man, I'm a professional!
