Howdy... i just picked up an 87 vert and I'm trying to get her going. I noticed something which seemed odd to me when the key is turned to the run position and that is that the Idle Regulating Valve attached to the throttle body is humming. Is is this normal operation? My eta doesn't have this part, so I've never experienced it before. Haven't gotten the car started yet as the starter appears to be non-functional. Thanks
The idle control valve normally vibrates continuously when key is in position 2 (run) regardless of engine on or off.

if your ICV is bad, will it not make this noise when the key is in the "on" position?
