What I originally thought was a head gasket might be my heater core Question?

All along I figured I had a bad head gasket but since I've been on this forum I've seen talk of the heater core and it has me thinking it might be my issue as well.

I'm getting fogging on the front window but only on the drivers side which is strange. Would that be a sign of a bad heater core or some kind of faulty flap which is allowing moisture from the system to bleed through the drivers side dash vent thus fogging up that side of the window?

on the driver side there are all 3 connections thru the firewall, maybe just a gasket of the heater core connections/pipes to the firewall.
You can see where the 3 connections are in engine room below the heater valves on the firewall, on the same level they come out inside

Is there a diagram for that anyware you know of? It would be GREAT not to have to replace my heater core if I just need to replace a gasket or elbo pipe.

on my website below there is a write up on the heater core change.
Before you start with heater core, check the seals, see all details on www.realoem.com
Also see here from the German forum E34, just posted fresh pics, hope they work here with the link

on the driver side engine room on left hand car 3 connections go thru the firewall from engine room to inside, 2 are for feed to the heater core = the smaller ones, and the bigger one is the return pipe.
