    4 New Pirelli Slicks 245/645/18

645 = Diameter of tires in MM

Tires are located in Danville, VA. Located 12 miles from VIR. I’d prefer not to ship but I will at buyers expense.
I’m asking $400. They retail over $400 a piece brand new.

Tires were mounted for fitment then removed. You can still see the mold line on all 4 tires. I have to sell them because I am moving and I don’t have the room for my tires.

Tires show signs of cold cracks. I asked a Pirelli engineer about this and he said I would not have a problem if I used the tires. I just need to monitor the cracks. He explained to me that this happens when the tires are stored in a near freezing environment and then the tire is dropped or bounced.

I’m also selling Michelin slicks that are showing the same cracks and I was given almost the exact same explanation for why this happens.

I’m on the forums in the evening and will respond as quickly as I can.
Don’t mind the X’s on the tires, that doesn't mean the tires are bad.

OT - I'm sorry to ask in this thread but could you explain to me what the '645' sidewall sizing stands for? I've never seen a tire marked with the '645' before, it's obviously not 645% of 245 mm.

    thanks,
    Ron

Slicks are measured in Diameter and Width, not aspect ratio. Pirelli measures OD in MM. (Michelins are CM)

So finding a tire close to a 245/40/18

    245 x .40 =98mm ; 18" x 25.4 = 457.2mm
    98mm + 98mm + 457.2mm = 653mm

    A Pirelli equivalent to 245/40/18 is 245/645/18.

    I hope that helps.

If no one buys these, they will also become a go kart crash barrier.

Even tho my niece is a Kart racer, I would hate to see new Pirellis wind up on the wall.

Psssst.... Dude, congrats on your first post on the forum. Look at the date of the ad for these tires, if this dude still has those tires, they'd be rock hard by now.
