I had seen this a while ago, lost the link but then recently found it again.
It's a 1993 design study for the (then) next generation 7 series E38.
This car (actually it seems, two cars - one a cross section, the other whole) was on display in 2001 at the BMW Museum in Munich for a "Design Studie" show of ultra rare concept models presumably not for the public and never before revealed.
Personally I think it's quite good looking, dare I say better than the E38.
Anyways, any more information or photos on this car would be appreciated. I'd love to know more.
Also, any other BMW forums where members would enjoy seeing this?
thanks
Very E31 esque, but a little bloated. I dig though.
meh. I'm glad they didn't produce that.

Any rear shots? Im feeling the design. This made me think of past designers for bmw. I found a great reference of past designers for BMW. http://www.bmwism.com/bmws_designers.htm
BTW, Boyke Boyer designed the e38. Just thought you guys might find that interesting.
It looks like an 850 and a 740 had a love child.

Holy crap, those are all nasty. At least they got it right..
interesting concepts, however, as nah2323 mentioned, they got it right in the end.

the concept is REALLY interesting. i mean its design was in 93, kinda ahead of its time there.

That car has a TRANS FAILSAFE error.
Thanks for sharing but I'm kinda glad that didnt make those as a final design. Like in example, E65 concept dont look beefy at all compared to final version. Looks like E65 front end mixed with e38 body. Boxy and edgy-ness on E38 dont really mix up to e65's curves and boldness. And I'm glad BMW differentiated that. Those tail lights look VERY awkward. I design cars for my hobby and I hope to be a automotive designer in a future. Maybe I should design my OWN version of 7 series. Just like how we like it, wide and low
EWWW the purple and green rice rockets That's a disgrace to entire BWM design history.
I like the concept of "Z6" but it doesn't look nice enough. Maybe BMW made a Z4 and 6 series (after Z4) and called it a day.
I do like the E31 concept tho. But not alot of changes are made then the original.
LOL @ the fake Bently
750IL SOLD....I'll miss you!
