Exclamation Car won't unlock with remote

I had a problem where my key didnt do anything but start the car (I had to use the actual key part to unlock and lock my doors), used my backup key for a while, then I took the defective one to the dealer and it took them couple minutes to reprogram it and it worked again.

Blown fuse and/or bad actuator. Had to take mine into the dealer to fix it and they replaced the fuse with a higher amp fuse and replaced the front door actuators.

So I replaced the fuse but switched it with the same amp level (15) and all doors open except for passenger. However, it does open from the inside when u pull the handle twice! If anyone ever has this problem its fairly easy to replace the fuse ...Fuse number 57

Replace the fuse with a 20 AMP (that's what we do when we do the repair at the dealer) and then test the locking system with the interior switch 10 times at 5 second intervals, if one of the actuators in the front still doesn't work, there's a kit you can buy to replace both actuators.

Pulling the handle twice to unlock the door is how they are supposed to unlock manually from the inside.

I just had this problem last night. I purchased a 20 AMP fuse and replaced FUSE #57. Drove the car for a block and everything works fine.

    Remote entry

Hey guys, so about a week ago i noticed that when pressing the lock/unlock buttons on my remote entry only the driver door would react, now as of yesterday, i have to use my actual key to unlock the door, but the remote will lock the driver door. and i cant open my back doors at all. the button on the center consol will only lock my driver door and do nothing else. PLEASE HELP!!! It is a 2006 325i 6 speed manual.

Check the fuses. If that's not it, maybe bad actuator(s). Common issue on these cars unfortunately.

i just picked up my car from the dealership. Took it on friday after my doors wouldn't open from the inside or outside. Unlock button wouldn't work on key or in car. They replaced the actuators and fuse 57. Also my idrive is gray now not green anymore (they reprogrammed the car because of a restraint system malfunction but im not sure if the idrive has anything to do with the locks.. so just bring it in to the dealership...if your under warranty they fix it free...good luck

Thumbs up Fuse 57 worked for me!

I had the same issue reported above - the key would lock the doors and unlock the trunk, but would not unlock any door. Had to use the physical key to get in. And for me, I could not open the passenger door from the inside (this seems more than a bit unsafe).

Anyway, replaced fuse 57 as described, and it works great. Thanks!!!!

You can unlock your whole car with turning the key twice in the door
