New Pics - BBS, Coilovers, & More

So I know some of you have followed my threads recently in regards to some mods I have been getting done. I finally got the car back and had a few pictures to show off the ride. Some of the mods are not pictured at the moment but will update soon enough. I am running 15mm spacers up front and 10mm spacers in the rear. I will be getting an alignment and adjusting the coilovers once things are settled in next week.

Review on the Coil Overs as of right now are as positive as could be. I wanted a setup that not only handled well but at the same time could pass the wife test. I daily drive the car and also am usually caught driving us and sis in law with her husband when we go out since I have the biggest car, so I needed it to ride well. I can honestly say that when I first drove the car I was super impressed with the ride. The tech that did the install said it was his first GC set on an E39. He has done a lot of KW and Blisteins so he wasn't sure how they would be but after testing the car out he said that he was thoroughly impressed and love the ride compared to the other two. Of course coupled with the 19 inch rims and thinner tires you do feel the bumps a bit more but definitely not super harsh either.

The car feels so tight now with the new bushings, rear sway, and suspension. I really think of it as a new car and couldn't be happier.

The Dinan intake has a great growl to it and definitely enhances my throttle response much more than just with the powerchip tune that I have. I am having Mike retune the car for the intake since originally it was done with my stock intake so I am sure it will be even that much better.

Bottom line I am in love all over again. I think I am pretty much done with the mods on this car. (Yes I am trying to say that with a straight face) I dont' want to go over the top on the car and I think I have done what I have wanted for a long time.

Thanks to everyone on this board that really inspired me to make my dreams come true on this car and really helped with pictures, diy, and just examples of how things are.

    Hope you like it.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you mod an e39.

Pure elegance. Alpine is the best E39 color. Period. Those LM's are the perfect compliment. Like vanilla ice cream and warm apple pie..

Car is perfect. That's exactly how I'd have an M5 look.

Great car! Perfect stance, wheels, and color scheme!

Compare it with the latest M5:

I'll give you 3 guesses which one I'd rather have.....

    That's how I feel whenever I see an M5.

I love the look of the drilled rotors/BBK.

If I were the OP, I would feel thread jacked by this pic. As it is though, nice genuine LM's!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I wouldn't take that new m5 at all. Those wheels are just fugly in my opinion. Looks like a flower blossom or something. That's just a artist's rendition of what they think the M5 is going to look like, it's not the actual one.

Raza - as usual I can't wait for your comments haha...it wouldn't be the same.

Yeah I am not. I specifically told the guy that I don't want to be slammed. I want to get rid of the gap and I want to perserve as much of the ride quality as I can because I daily drive it, take the wife with me and friends sometimes so don't want it to be crazy low.

It's going to settle a bit more since they are new springs, then we will dial in the height of it and I'm done.

I have only one question, car looks spectacular by the way, why did they put the balancing weights on the lip? I would take it somewhere else and have them balanced. Would be ashame to ruin the lips finish when you go to get the old weights removed in the event of a rebalance.

again, great looking car. leave it alone!!
There is no replacement for displacement; try boost!!

i have a similar setup on my non-m, i'm 'much' lower but i also have a 540, if she were an m5 it would be exactly your height, maybe a tad lower in the front for same rake, but the way you have your setup right now its aggressive, im sure you feel quite the difference in drive quality, but you don't have to worry about every driveway (etc) that you run in to, solid balance between form and function

car looks incredible though, very great choice in mods

Those aren't balancing weights actually. It's a BBS Sticker that the original owner of the wheels had on there. You can see it on this. I'm probably going to be removing them.
