    Question for new owners, how many miles before your first OIL CHANGE?

    i'm approaching 10k and still have two green bars left on my dash. i want them to hurry and disappear so i can take my car in, and get another bimmer to take to the canyons

    Just change it now. Doesnt hurt anything, and you'll feel better about changing it earlier- the whole I'm on top of things feeling

    Mine gets changed every 6000 miles. Since I plan on keepingit awhile I want to take good care of it!

    Does you car use the 10W-60 synthetic racing oil or the 5W-30 synthetic oil? I can't believe BMW opted for a 10W-60 oil ... that's some really expensive stuff compared to regular oil ... or even my oil.
    Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?

    No Kidding! But given the overall cost of the vehicle, it's not so bad. I just sign the slip and try not to think about it till the credit card bill comes in.

    i just added a quart of 5w 40 to my car today, after the engine light had been off and on for the last 4 days.
