    ECU Module's Definitions

    In interest of getting more information out there..
    Anyone know what the initials stand for...

    Do you have any additional Modules to ADD to the list?

    ABG = Air BaGS
    AEWS = Engine Immobilizer = ElectronischE WegfahrSperre
    AKMB = Instrument Cluster = KoMBi
    ALSZ = Light Switching Center = LichtSchaltZentrum
    BTM = Passenger Mirror Module = Beifahrer Tueren Module?
    CVM = Convertible Top Module = CabrioVerdeckModul
    FTM = Driver Side Mirror Module = Fahrer Tueren Module?
    GM5 = General Module 5 (5th Generation )
    GT = Navigation System
    IHK = Climate Control Module
    LWS = Steering Angle Sensor Characteristic Diagram ?? = LenkWinkerSensor??
    MK60 = DSC MK60
    RAD = RADio
    RLS = Rain / Light Sensor
    SM = Seat Memory = = SitzMemory
    TCU = Telematics Control Unit (( can be Assist or Assist / Bluetooth) depending on age)
    UEB = Rollover bars = Überrollsensor

    Very nice TerraPhantm I was kinda hoping for what the letters stood for also...

    Most of them translate into something in german. Added the ones I know/could figure out.

    so ueb has two things in it...
    KLEMME 15 LIEGT AM SG AN = CLAMP 15 IS BECAUSE OF THE SG AT
    LAMPENCHECK GESICHERT = LAMP CHECK SECURED

    lws has stuff that looks like this...
    LWS5_KENNFELD_1
    e38
    e39
    e46
    e52
    z3
    LWS5_KENNFELD_2
    e38
    e39
    And so on...
    KENNFELD = CHARACTERISTIC DIAGRAM

    happen to know what the tv modules are?

    UEB might be Überrollsensor. I've never seen that on a non-vert

    Yea. Still don't have any idea about LWS though... I've seen it on every E46 I've worked on (and it's probably on other chasis too based on the parameters found in there) but I have no idea what it does

    I did find this in the bmw abbreviations
    LWS-5 - steering angle sensor—-Lenkwinkersensor
    so maybe LWS_KENNFELD = steering angle sensor CHARACTERISTIC DIAGRAM
