Rear doors coverings trim (exterior trim) - cracked rubber

I need some sound advice amigoes ... the rubber on those Rear doors coverings trim - (exterior trim) (#3) is so cracked - i really hate it .... but the OEM parts new ones are quite expensive. Are they 1 piece with the rubber? I think there is nothing that can be done to replace the rubber only??? How about if I remove it carefully - will it be OK for the water to go there? Wont this mess the car? Wont the clips that hold it be seen a lot if the rubber is removed?

How about black silicone or hot glue?

    Any other ideas?

    Actually how are those removed?

I really have not seen these fixes - I posted in one of the threads and forgot about it.
So there is a solution - I see Timm fixed his SICK Individual - gotta try something.
    Thanks for the links Mo.

I'm interested in this as well. Mine aren't too badly cracked, but it's bad enough, so if there's a nice cheap solution, that would be great!

I have my pieces off currently shadowlining them and tore the rubber off as it was done with. Can you show a pic of exactly which one you think will look right and how you are putting it on the piece? Thanx all the stuff above is a little confusing.

Thanks guys - I will post pics soon. I'm also excited/ all the piks above are examples of the rubber seal types I found. the one that is for us is great - super OEm look.

it is on the smallest pik above in the middle.

I started thinking of actually doing the trim all over the sides + the rear window - there are gaps all around. What do you think might be the problem if I put rubber trimm in all around. i tried it today and it looked pretty good.

my car is durty, I still dont have the exact seal size (I have 1,5 and 4 - I need number 2) and cant upload piks from my stupid laptop. but once i get it done there will be a ton of pics.

The kaixinseals.com pic is the type of stripping you will use?

I have just received the 20 m long rubber seal that I think will do the job.
My car is not close to me now. But the one that is almost like the one I got, is on this pic below at the lower left corner.
Once I install it, I'll do a full pictorial.

I think to put this seal all over the car sides not only like the small strip where the original rubber was. Also I think to put it on the rear window as well. I think to use black silicone , but it sticks pretty good even without any silicone.

No idea dude. I'd love to send you some but you guys are far away. I still have not glued it/siliconed it. Will post more when i finish it.

What do you think of doing the trim all around the sides and the rear window?
I still can not appreciate it 100%. And I'm seem to be turning in to a OEM freak - so not sure if i will do it. may be only the rear as the original was on the sides and the rear window . Any thoughts?

It turned out great. If it were me, I would leave the rear window as is. since water from the roof goes in that channel and drains trough the side but it does look good.

The above is my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.

Where did you get this stuff from, and if you got enough interest would you be willing to buy enough for a vehcle and ship it out to us. Maybe a Paypal to you and you ship to us kinda deal. Im pulling mine off to shadowline and would love to replace the rubber. Mine was pretty cracked i cut it all out...

I think it looks great every where you put it, the only thing I would worry about is water draining properly where it is supposed to. I don't think you would have a problem though, if anything it might seal up better! LOL

Where did you get yours? Locally? What kinda store? What is the rubber made for? Automotive, door seal, house windows, etc? Thanx

I say do it just don't silicone it, if any issues show up pull it off. What kinda store did you get it at locally? Auto, home improvement or what?
