ok so when im doing about 70 not even that fast and i start to brake to drop to 40 for an exit i get violent shaking in the steering wheel what can it be i had my wheels aligned and balanced about 3 months ago so what gives and im not talking slamming the brakes either just a gentle push of them also when im doing 70 i just cant let the car roll it shakes like crazy i would need to give it gas for it not to shake
It's "braking" dude.

Same thing happened to me, warped rotor.
Removed rotors, brought to local OReilly, where I am a regular customer.
They resurfaced my rotors for free (normally $10/each).
Now all is good.
PS: There is a possibility that you have worn suspension components too (such as thrust arm bushing issue) but worn suspension components also cause vibration during cruising.
So vibration during braking is usually from rotor issues.
if its a warped rotor, you will feel the pedal "pulse"

Brake Rotors? Alignment issues?
had the same issue, changed the front rotors and pads and now 90% of it is gone, i guess its because i didnt do anything to the rears.
I had a mild case of vibration in the steering wheel when braking from freeway speeds (no vibration during normal freeway cruising)...during an inspection, my tech found a couple small cracks in the thrust arm bushings had started, not enough for him to suspect this was the cause, but we replaced the arms with new Lemforders with the "upgrade" Meyle thrust arm solid rubber bushings (no liquid filling) from EAC Tuning and this completely resolved the vibration (arms were original to the car (145k, with bushings replaced at around 80k). I am told if you have really bad thrust arm bushings, that the vibration can be severe...so don't discount this possible cause/solution, beyond having either warped rotors or pad deposits on the rotors.

*Sigh*
here we go again.
OP before you go too far down the "warped Rotor" rabbit hole I would do a little research on Thrust arm bushings. This is classic for thrust arms. If it were me I would change them out and see how your car behaves before moving forward with any brake related repairs. Your secondary issue of shake while rolling rules out the brakes as the source of the issue(besides tons of evidence against the Warped rotor myth)

Not the rotors - it's the tension arm bushings. They are worn out and allow the movement.
It's the rotors. I won't say warped rotors, because people believe warped rotors are a myth, but I replaced all mine and the shaking when braking issue went away.
I'm not saying you're stupid, I'm saying you have bad luck at thinking.

Pad deposits. Resurface rotors or get new ones!
Check your thrust arm bushings for leaking and cracks. I had this problem before and it ended up to be my thrust arm bushings . Take a look at them.
Try rebedding your brakes first.
From there I'd look into thrust arm bushings.

My car has a bad shimmy at the moment and it's driving me INSANE. It only happens at 65+ mph and it's purely a steering wheel shimmy.
I've done:
-Thrust arms with HD bushings
-New brakes all around (braking shimmy is gone)
-Balanced tires (will rebalance)
Next is wheel bearings. If that doesn't do it, I'm going to set my car on fire.

Warped rotors are caused by immediately washing the car after driving it especially when it is on its last few millimeters. Have it turned by a brake shop for $10.00/piece. Report back to us.
