My '08 335xi killed its battery while parked at work the other day. It took a jump, I drove it home and it ran fine the rest of the weekend

The dealer looked at the car on Monday and says it is due to excessive time on code KL15, which they said is the "aware" mode of the convenience package. They told me that the fob was too close to the car, keeping on certain electronic systems, draining the battery.

The key is kept about about twelve feet from the dashboard when not in use. While in that position, the doors will not unlock by touch, which tells me the dealer is full of sh*t.

I've had the car about four months and this problem hasn't occurred before.

Any ideas out there?

Thanks,
SB
