    Fuel consumption at idle

The mpg gauge is not accurate enough to obtain the info needed. Its obviously below 2 gallons an hour according to the guage while moving as while coasting at 60mph the guage goes much above 40mpg.
Anyone have a specific number of fuel consumption at idle on a stock m50/m52.
Z's are for old men too afraid to drive fast anyway.

No, its not. Because the guage doesnt have numerics and hash lines to denote the reading while coasting and it goes above the 40mpg. Azz hole. Not to mention when coasting the needle drops all the way to the end like its pegged. Think about this hard and go look at your car while its operating. Jerk.

Anyone else have a actual answer that's helpful? Thanks ahead of time.

Thanks for the info that was pmd to me. An m50 idles at about .26 gallon an hour. That's about 6 and 1/4 gallons for a whole day. Which is also around $19 a day.

When the car is idling it's usually stopped, 0 mpg. When coasting the throttle body is closed, very little air, very little fuel needed for greater distances higher mpg.

Gave away my BMWs, driving a VW and an Audi now.
