    OBD II Port Connection

I forget who was asking about the OBD II Diagnostic Port, maybe Mateo M3?

I was going to ask about this. I have a CarPC that I need to hook up to the OBD-II port. Thanks!

When wired this way, is this sufficient for diagnosing and tuning?

Yes, this is how 100% of all communication with the GM PCM is done.
Here is another diagram showing how utilize the PCM power and grounds for the OBD-II port integrating it into the PCM harness.

    Hope that helps,
    Paul

My power to the connector is switched as I leave an OBD2 bluetooth connector hooked up. Works just fine for that and reflashing of the ecu.

Yes that's very helpful, thanks. Only problem is, I do believe the #58 wire on the blue plug is green, not purple.

Correct, GM calls out Dark Green for the insulation color of that wire, the rebel alliance prefers Purple.

My car has been done for years now. I don't really drive it much and it's been throwing a CEL since day one. I tried at one point to wire up the OBD port but the scanner could not see the car.

    Question:

Are the grounds 4 & 5 supposed to come off the PCM or can they be grounded anywhere? Same for 16, from the PCM or any power source?

It has been YEARS since I messed with it, but I do believe the grounds are chassis grounds.
