Looking at that and the Bentley now.

I *think* that the green/purple wire I have is the fuel pump 12V wire. It is the same thickness and color, at least.

Obviously the brown is a ground, but for as many power leads as come out of that harness, one would think that there would be more grounds.

The 2x brown/green and the green/blue are perplexing, at least for the moment.

you could just trash those relays and the harness and use a seperate new relay to power the fuel pump and "key on" power

Well I'm not planning on using any of the BMW harness anyway, so I wouldn't be opposed to that. So what you're talking about would be a modified version of what Nash did?

right, I basicly did what nash did but then added another relay to run the fuel pump and just got rid of that harness.

Just to clarify, the three relays are Fuel Pump Relay, ECU Relay, and O2 Sensor Relay.

    Correct

I'm not sure what I am going to do with the 02 wiring... I'm kind of lost on that aspect of the wiring on the GM side... what needs to be done?

I think as simple as just connecting GM O2 plug to O2 sensor. I'm planning on keeping just the front ones

o2 sensor relay not needed on LSx... just connect the 2 o2 sensors to the GM engine harness

Same here, but do we need a relay to control them or can we delete that relay?

there is no need for a o2 sensor relay with a LSx, they are powered by the ECU

that is EXACTLY what I wanted to know. Now I can use that relay to control the fan. Thus keeping everything looking oem.

    Thank you!

That relay may not have the ability to have that kind of constant amps on it. I would use another one, but thats up to you.

Okay, I'm going to try and make a clearer diagram on what needs to be done in terms of wiring. Lets start with the Fuel pump and PCM power relays. Blank sheets for you experts:

I'm guessing that using a different relay for the fuel pump is as simple as connecting the power, ground, and fuel pump specific wires.

I'm also guessing that powering the PCM is as simple as connecting the power, ground, and bundling all the PCM power wires together.

    Halp?

Any other relay you want to use will be set up the same except the green wire will go to what ever you are powering (PCM, Fuse Panel, ect)

Also, you should use a fuse panel(like on the NASH directions) to power the ECU instead of bundling them together, that way they can each have a sepreate fuse. It was easy to do.

Ah, I understand now. I was confused by the Nash documents before. Thanks so much for your help.

I was going to use the holder with a different Bosch relay. Sorry for not being clear but you are correct it would probably not work.

I'm going to be fusing the PCM in the harness near the PCM

The Fuel Pump is already fused in the chassis wiring

The other key'ed source fuses I need to figure out the best place to add them. I am just trying to stay away from doing a whole power center by using fusable links that are easy to get to.

YES I second the Thanks!! The Nash stuff is quite confusing in the way it was written...

Can you just use the OEM fan relay to control the fan?

What amp fuses are you planning on using inline to the PCM?

Also, on your E36 PDF on the X20 you have pin 5 listed as the AC pressure switch. I have it listed as the high speed fan relay control. Any ideas?

Also found this for the fuel pump relay for our information:

To be honest, I don't know for sure, my fan wiring harness is so hacked up I was going to get rid of it.

I could very well be wrong, let me look at the ETM tomorrow.

Didnt get any fuel pump relay info in there....

    Time for sleep!!!

you could as long as you use a fan that doesnt draw more amps than the factory fan(10amps low, 25amps high)

Anybody know where I can find the fuel pump wire in the car? Obviously it runs from the fuel pump to the fusebox, but does it appear under the dash or in the console or anywhere else I could potentially find it?

As you might have seen, I butchered my e36 harness a little and thus am very confused about where I should splice into the wire. I have the wire leading from the relay, and I have the wire leading from the X20 harness, but I don't know where the wire should be going from either? HALP? TIA.
