Well it has been an interesting 48 hours.
New opportunities, old ones closing... Yea that's not cryptic or anything..
Oh well, E38 stuff.... I picked up a set of Black Chrome trim rings for the 7 today. Between my eBay bucks and my $10 coupon from Paypal I paid $3 shipped for them. I think they will look nice and subtle in the car.

It will be a week or so before they arrive, in the interim I was hoping to find someone with an old sport cluster I can cannibalized the shift light filter out of. I have a non-sport cluster, but have converted to Steptronic so I would like my cluster to have the lightly backlit 1 and 5 like a Sport has. So if anyone has one laying around they will part out, please let me know.

How hard is it to pull and dismantle the cluster on these cars? I like those as well.

well tellu the truth..Those dark chrome rings are too dark..Almost too much work to notice anything in the cluster..Waste of time....Maybe if the cluster background was a different color than black then those black chrome rings would "POP"!...I had Alloy rings and they didnt do alot to make the cluster gauges look good..Until I swtitched to Chrome rings.....Much Betta!

Yep, that is exactly why I went with the black chrome, I didn't want "POP" but subtle shinny sexiness. That is why we have so many options!!! I will post pics when I get them installed..

I have the same ones in my car but they are hard to take a picture of. Attached is my not so good attempt. Low lighting + smartphone cam so i am blaming it on the camera not the user.LOL
Anyway, they are great. They are subtle and add a nice touch. My car is black with black interior.

That seller is great BTW, got mine form him. Each individually packaged, bubble wrapped and arrived pretty quickly....mine were chrome super happy with them
