Bump for a dumb question;
If you look at the description for the M10 and M12 unions, the M10 union states it's for use with 3/16" brake line and the M12 union indicates it's for 6mm brake line.
Does the 6mm spec really matter as long as the steel nuts used are for the correct for 3/16" line (BLF-39C-5 for M10X1.0 and BLF-48C-5 for M12X1.0)?

Bringing up an old thread here...
I have started to bleed my brake system on e36 323i with a 4 channel abs. I have made a new flare for the m12 fitting but it seems to be leaking.
Is it a different type of flare needed for the m12 fitting compared to the m10 fitting?
I am right in saying the brake line diameter is the same throughout?
